I have been working at TD full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, PTO, flexible schedules. Management cares about its employees and treats its people well. Employees are actually heard and actions taken as appropriate - workers don't just get lip service like at some other companies. If you show them you are a hard worker and take your career seriously they will bend over backwards to help you achieve your career goals and growth. High focus on developing employee talent. At the same time, struggling employees are nurtured and encouraged rather than thrown out the door.

    Cons

Health insurance costs are a bit high on the employee side.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on management training with emphasis on strong leadership, promoting work-life balance, as well as getting the right personalities in management rolls, as these are the people who directly affect employees' experiences. A bad manager can ruin an employee's opportunity with a great company, and a company's opportunity with a great employee.

I have been working at TD full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Respectful coworkers, experience is rewarded, flexible work-life schedule, management tries to accomodate

    Cons

No privacy, some old school rude co-workers in the system, haven't completely purged and integrated acquisitions, tight with dollar

    Advice to Management

Adapt office to local, instead of one model for entire company

I have been working at TD full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The company offers and promotes various professional development opportunities (eClasses) on a wide variety of topics, mentoring opportunities, networking groups, and volunteer opportunities. They emphasize the importance of employee experience as well as customer experience. TD offers a culture of inclusion and acceptance. In June of 2017 the company announced 16 weeks paid parental leave for mothers AND fathers.

    Cons

Pay scales are on the low side.
Although the company talks the talk, not all members of the management team walk the walk. Many managers do not foster growth and development even though the company does. Employees must be diligent about owning their own careers (which is not a con and is true anywhere).
Health insurance is mediocre but not bad.
Current leadership does have a "boys club" approach to promoting new management and blatant favoritism regardless of lack of required skills is obvious.

    Pros

    Cons

Lower salary compared to competitors, no bonuses except Christmas (2 weeks pay), overtime not always available, yearly raises are not much (2%).

I worked at TD full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive Pay, Friendly coworkers/employees, great benefits, access to tons of information and research typical of a large bank.

    Cons

Priorities when hiring management. Lack of communication & understanding from those at the top to those at the bottom.

    Advice to Management

Hire management for the right reasons, aka development and growth of your skilled employees. Noticed a trend of hiring managers with people problems to fix paper problems (not a winning LT strategy).

    Pros

The corporate training is good. Benefits are decent.

    Cons

Management was horrible. People were allowed to get away with questionable practices for far too long. The environment in the store I was in was extremely confrontational an cliquey. The hours are far worse than other banks, which you know beforehand. At my interview they said they would work with me on my schedule, then when I started working, it was a problem.

    Advice to Management

Don't turn the other way when you see bad things happening.

    Pros

Td bank was an amazing place to work. They matched 401k and you receive hours of vacation with every paycheck. I also received free checking and savings accounts. Room to grow only if you have the right manager.

    Cons

Managers can be bias when deciding who to promote.
