      Pros

The energy, enthusiasm and pride that people in this company display is unlike anything I've ever experience. The work life balance and PTO make this an organization for any stage of your professional life

      Cons

a lot of approvals needed to implement a change - but to be expected in a larger organization

        Pros

Good work life balance because people hardly want to take decisions and hence work slows down.

        Cons

Preference given to Buttering people. No one cares about your knowledge or views. 80 % people are of low caliber. Racism and Nepotism hurts. It is not an equal opportunity employer, because a person of certain community origin or religious belief or language usually has subordinates of same community affiliation or religious belief or linguage.

          Pros

The company is well respected, has high standards and has great benefits

          Cons

work life balance is something that they talk about but really don't aspire to achieve - at least not when I worked for the company!

            Pros

Most friendly working environment and everyone in our team is pretty nice. The workload is acceptable and I can balance my work and life in a better way.

            Cons

Sometime when the deadline is approaching, we have to work overtime for few days. (Actually it is acceptable)

              Pros

Straightforward hiring process. You get paid from the moment you step foot into the branch, even during training. A lot of PTO days Great benefits package 401k match after 6 months You are expected to make sales, but customer service comes first and there isn't as much pressure to make sales. If you end up in a branch with a good manager who communicates with you and looks out for you, raises and promotions will come your way more easily.

              Cons

Not the best work/life balance since we are open 7 days per week and a lot of locations are open until 7pm on Fridays You're expected to work almost every weekend A lot of useless conference calls It's not unusual to work understaffed for a few months if a fellow employee takes a job elsewhere. Annual raises are minimal, sometimes as little as a few cents per hour.

                Pros

Just another financial Institution like any other

                Cons

TD hires externally VERY often for management positions that SHOULD be filled by someone with financial industry experience. The past 3 Manager of Customer Service positions were filled by 19 year old part time sales representatives with little work experience, let alone life experience. Management do not have any clue how to coach, train or even talk to employees. After a conversation with other financial industry professionals at the same level, I can confirm that TD is FAR below the fair line with regard to PAY. It's enough to pay the bills, but other than that, it's extremely poor. Retail and Executive Management want you to liove and breathe TD! The work life balance is poor at best and all they want you to do is think TD. After our last year end meeting, we all had to promise to create fantastic customer experiences - and we all agreed by dipping our finger in ink and pushing it against a poster!!!!!! Think about that for a second...sounds a bit like a cult. Unfortunately, the advisors who get rewarded and recognized at TD are the good Sales People, not the good advisors. I feel very strongly in continuing education and in effective advising of peoples personal finances. I would rather be a successful advisor than a successful Sales person.

                  Pros

Work life balance is good if you are not very ambitious and just want a low-key stable job

                  Cons

                  1) Poor team bonding and culture 2) Too much control from top. Analyst opinions and inputs not valued. 3) Too many executives/managers with no real decision making power. Very hierarchical. 4) TD is the only bank with a main office in Ottawa ( Due to MBNA acquisition many years ago) . Growth opportunities are very poor due to this factor in the cards risk department, very little mobility and fewer growth options for both Ottawa and GTA employees 5) Highly political middle management cadre. 6) Very poor information/knowledge sharing with analyst. You are just supposed to do whatever is assigned and not ask questions about what else is going on in the department. 7) Poor salaries/compensation/increments . Little budget provided by product partners to the Risk department (cost center)

                    Cons

Sell you a bit too much on how they have the 'best culture and work life balance' on Bay Street - while this may be true at times, if you're working on something urgent, you will be consistently working 100+ hours a week

                        Pros

TD Bank has a great opportunity to grow and prosper for many recent college graduates and is a proverbial foot in the door.

                        Cons

Hours are very inflexible and can make balancing out your social life difficult with your work life. Need to be able to budget your time well in order to do this position.

What are your thoughts on companies requesting references before scheduling an interview? Recently got a request for an interview but the instructions were to provide 3 references first.
