I worked at TD full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work life balance. Good people. Nearly impossible to get fired.

    Cons

Disorganized No room for career growth No vision and moving into this century is not encouraged Weak management Still trying to figure out how to grow out of the “regional bank” mentality

    Advice to Management

Promote from within Hire stronger leaders Do not be scared to fire employees who do not produce Try hiring based on qualification Don’t be scared to hire women, people under 40 and minorities for management positions.

I worked at TD full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The only good thing about working for TD is the benefits. However all banks provide the same benefits package.

    Cons

I worked for TD for 4 years. The company is not what it used to be. Sales goals increased tremendously and the employees are under a lot of stress and pressure to reach their goals. Management is very poor. Senior management is in a different world and does not care about what is happening on the floor. Salaries are a joke and payouts are almost nothing and it’s hard to move up unless you kiss your big bosses hands. No work/life balance and schedules are not set plus hours feel like a retail store not a bank. So glad I don’t work there anymore and do not recommend it to anyone!

I have been working at TD full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good culture overall. Good work-life balance depending on your motivation. Good opportunities for motivated people. Good diversity and inclusion. Good benefits.

    Cons

A significant number of unmotivated people. Low accountability for laziness and inaccuracy. Very conservative risk approach. Slow to market. Management is slow/resistant to change. Compensation structure doesnt reward incentive and trails market.

I have been working at TD part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Decent pay Same thing all the time

    Cons

No work life balance - expect to be there for the entirety of the day on your feet with no energy left afterwards Management will really let you work seven to ten days straight You HAVE to get customer service and management will freak when you get a 0 even when its expected Rude and entitled customers Constant micromanaging to the point of trying to control your personal autonomy You will never be alone, not even for a second so no bueno for introverts You get paid well compared to other jobs but overall it is so low for all that you must do and be responsible for - mini accountant, mini receptionist, customer therapist and punching bag, and if applicable, translator

I have been working at TD full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great leadership across the departments. Nice work/life balance. Good pay. Progressive and generous parental leave policy.

    Cons

Can be very political, but overall not anymore so than most places. Can be meeting heavy due to remote working and decentralized office locations.

    Advice to Management

Continue to find ways to empower your people. Continue to focus on increasing diversity at more senior levels.

I worked at TD full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Health benefits, 401K, Paid time off, decent pay, opportunity to advance (if you network correctly and quickly), many opportunities to learn about business, finance, and law.

    Cons

Work life balance, poor management in HR department (often is biased and sides with upper management), lack of support for mid-management, and outdated technology/ programs.

    Advice to Management

Please respect the roles of the individuals of the store who uphold operations, namely, the Head Teller role. Often times the efforts of HT's are taken for granted and they work tirelessly to gain no appreciation for every single thing they do in the store. Regard HT's as part of the management team and as leaders that they are, extend the importance of upholding operations to the entirety of the store. Learn your store, learn your customers, learn your business customers, they are the lifeblood of the business that is run. Teach your store how to respect the management team and that includes Head Tellers. Lead by example, be consistent in your actions and deeds. Be personable and transparent with those you work with. Remember that personal attributes bleed into your management style. Be a good person.

I have been working at TD full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great company to work for, people are great. Company really values work/life balance. GREAT BENEFITS (with the exception of medical, that just avg)

    Cons

Hard to break leave retail once your're in. Back office has a negative assumption of retail store employees. Have to really prove yourself.

    Advice to Management

Let go of projects/programs that are not working and that customers voice their distaste for (lobby leadership)
