    I worked at TD full-time

    Pros

A lot of PTO but it was a struggle to take it because the high turn over rate and schedule conflicts.

    Cons

Barley no training they just throw you in and then if you make an error and request more training they deny you and put you on probation. Incredibly high stress, VERY fast paced. I was often the ONLY teller working BOTH the drive thru AND inside the branch. Very poor management, no work life balance. 10 to 12 hour days nearly every week day and always working late if there is an issue which there often was. ATM always breaking down, very old software TD is truly behind in technology. CONSTANT juggling of multiple projects and customers, unrealistic sales goals, a genuine terrible place to work!

I have been working at TD full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Good job security. - Good benefits/PTO time allotted. - Good annual bonuses. - Depending on Department, can be WFH-friendly. - Good on diversity, women in leadership, community/charitable leadership. - Recognition system is solid.

    Cons

    - Pay is slightly below average. - Raises are meager. - Work/life balance truly varies from team to team. Some are great, some are atrocious. You'll notice if you read some of the reviews, you will see work/life mentioned as both a pro and a con. You really have to do your homework to know the manager with whom you will be working. - Systems are replaced frequently, and training tends to lag behind. - TD has an extremely strange promotion/career development model. Employees very rarely are promoted within their own role. They are expected to apply for new jobs/roles to advance, and to do so, the employees are required to let their manager know ahead of time. This creates a lot of uncomfortable working situations, reviews, etc.

    Advice to Management

    - While the TD culture has a strong message on paper, it is not often followed across the bank. - Stop chasing buzzwords blindly. - Stop replacing systems so quickly. As employees, we feel like tools are replaced frequently, and not always with something better.

I worked at TD full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

TD is great for work life balance and treats their employees right. Employees often stay at TD because they are comfortable with where they are at and the lives that their job helps them lead. There is significant diversity at TD, and the company is working even harder to improve it's impressive culture of inclusion, respect, and customer-focus.

    Cons

The downside is that leaders at TD understand the value proposition to their employees: you like/love working here so we can afford to pay you less. Employees are recognized for exceptional work but often need to step out of their comfort zone and advocate for themselves in order to receive promotions and progress in their career. Many leaders are okay with people coasting in their job but will not reward this kind of behavior beyond the below industry average compensation that TD pays.

    Advice to Management

When I worked at TD it seemed clear to me that the company, like many other large financial services firms, was moving very slowly in regards to innovation, process improvement, and cost savings. As the industry becomes more competitive, I think it should be realistic that TD either decreases their tolerance for risk to invest more greatly in becoming a top 5 bank or steers in the direction of being acquired by a top 5 bank.
