I worked at TE Connectivity full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Pay is great - Team members are typically great people - Opportunity to learn about different industries, move to different functions if you are one of the fortunate high performers

    Cons

    - Known to lay employees off when things get rough, then be short staffed when the market improves - Lack of security in all roles due to constant restructuring - Terrible Talent Management system where only high performers are considered for promotions/lateral moves - Medical deductibles are very high, most people have a hard time affording costs - Culture of Upper level management needs to be adjusted. I have been working at TE Connectivity for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good people. Diverse product line. Global coverage.

    Cons

This has gotten better over time, but its still very siloed across the business units.

    Advice to Management

Drive global processes to eliminate variation in teh deliverables. Too much freedom and flexibility afforded the business units to modify what should be a global standard.

I worked at TE Connectivity full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Most Employees are very helpful, they don't micromanage

    Cons

Upper management is completely disconnected, unavailable, uninterested and removed from the day to day business, the culture is very stagnant - no one seems happy there, employees that have been there for a long time talk only about getting out... yikes

    Advice to Management

Do annual "confidential" employee surveys, and take action on the areas that need improvement; change the company culture; create a stimulating environment and greater opportunities for professional development, take an interest the work employees are doing, acknowledge everyone's efforts, most people I talked with at TE feel very devalued, to them it's just a job. It's unfortunate that TE doesn't see the value in improving...

I worked at TE Connectivity full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Operations staff is a dedicated and long tenured group. Most of the longer term professional staff are continually trying to make a positive difference in the organization.

    Cons

Wages were well below industry average for my qualifications and education Senior management constantly focused on trying to find what people were doing wrong, rather than praising them for what they did right Way too many unnecessary and burdensome procedures that slow progress Employees who complain the loudest and to the highest manager get get the most attention

    Advice to Management

Start paying attention to what is right that is going on around you. Immediately get rid of those who create a toxic environment.

I worked at TE Connectivity full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Innovative and talented engineers who care about the company, the products, and about doing the right thing. Great development opportunities - the company offers variety of training options The best 401(k) program I have ever heard - 5% company match Salary is comparable to industry average

    Cons

Senior management does not have a vision and does not care about people. As a result, a lot of great people that made the company great were either let go or had to leave. Layoffs and constant fear of new waves of layoffs is everyday reality - instead of figuring out how to sell more stuff the only solution to improve the bottom line that the executives know is to let more people go. HR is a complete mess. The company...

    Advice to Management

Leave!!! At the very least, change HR leadership! They are killing the morale of the company.
