I have been working at TEAGUE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is fascinating to be exposed to the culture, talent and leadership here. The capabilities and experience are unparalleled and the influence TEAGUE’s work has had is undeniable. The range of talent and skills across the firm encompasses nearly any practice within the field all the way through the making, manufacturing or implementation.

    Cons

Nothing unexpected with this amount of history and the tumult in our industry with design’s ascendency and integration throughout every aspect of any business expecting success in today’s economy.

    Advice to Management

Even with all of our history, what’s ahead will always hold more importance that anything behind us.

I have been working at TEAGUE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I've gotten to take in and enjoy all that Teague offers in efforts to build/strengthen corporate culture. A LOT of importance, time and resources are placed on employee events, budgets (very fair) are set aside for team building events, employee morale, fresh fruit, snacks and beverages get delivered daily, and not to mention the beer/wine fridge! The work environment is relaxed - work hard/play hard mentality. The...

    Cons

The average tenure is pretty long (which is generally a good thing), but because of it, sometimes it's hard to introduce change or a new way of doing things. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen, though! It definitely takes the right support and personality to try and drive process improvements. They're generally accepted, but like any company, though, I know there are/will continue to be minor barriers and challenges to break...

I have been working at TEAGUE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Compensation is excellent - Corporate team is loaded with great people supporting amazing design teams I've worked for Fortune 500 companies, and global leaders in their respective industries. The one thing they've all had in common is being hamstrung with over-burdensome processes that have snowballed over decades of ongoing business. TEAGUE's in its 9th decade in the design industry, and it's refreshing to...

    Cons

    - PTO could be improved upon - The ladder is short, but wide. There's value in having a flatter corporate structure. If good works being done, there's room to create space on the next step. **Can't speak to other reviewers points on politics. Haven't seen it yet.**

    Advice to Management

Too early to offer advice, but from my observations, they're all-in at all times.

I have been working at TEAGUE full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Always something new going on - People seem very positive about their work - Benefits and pay seem to be correct for my job space - Ability to make changes with in the IT space is actually faster than other places i've worked - Concerns raised to management seem to be heard and acted on

    Cons

    - Open office space makes it hard to concentrate - Multiple offices spread through out the area can be a pain. Also a positive in some ways though.

    Pros

Flexible work time and location. Free fruit and beverages

    Cons

Narrow minded leadership team. Only care about power and manipulation, do not value the employees or their only clients.

    Advice to Management

Hire senior leaders who can actually lead and value your employees. Seriously, get a new VP.

I worked at TEAGUE full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Free food, fair pay, you can work in anonymity, occasionally.

    Cons

This agency is a political mind field with Marie Antionette's hand on the guillotine. The focus is on dumb obedience vs good design, all in the name of protecting the CEO's cash cow client. As an independent consultancy, Teague would die as an overpriced agency with lackluster output

    Advice to Management

Return Teague to a company that puts design first, if not for your clients

    I worked at TEAGUE full-time

    Pros

Pay is decent for an agency. Some talented people. With hard work and patience there are some opportunities for people to grow.

    Cons

Too slow to change. Untrustworthy leaders. Senior leaders lacking skills and judgement. Restructuring was handled very poorly. People were discarded. Too much kool aid.

    Advice to Management

Don’t treat your employees like disposable assets. They are the only asset you have. Action speaks more than words. Address underperformance -on all levels.

    Pros

Met some great people. Free juices

    Cons

I have seen so much back stabbing, during my stay in Aviation studio. Really hard to get promoted for career advancement, due to all nonsense excuses from design mangers. Lots of talented people left Teague beacause of all those BS, limition of career growth and not aligning with their expectations. I have been working at TEAGUE full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good work life balance, some amazingly talented co-workers, and a VP understands the company and believes in it.

    Cons

Under paid, absolutely zero chance of career advancement, terrible health insurance and benefits. Way too political. Brown-nosers get more accolades than the people actually working excessive hours (now with no more OT) to finish projects.

    Advice to Management

Start managing! Your success is your group's success, not what ever brown-nosing you seem to constantly do... There are two groups, some of the biggest groups in the aviation studio (ID and MD), that hasn't been able to promote anyone in what seems like years. Teague is the La Brea tar-pits of career development.

I have been working at TEAGUE full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

I have met some of my best friends at TEAGUE. The company does a good job hiring people who fit the company culture and thus we are, for the most part, compatible.

    Cons

Strict allegiance to Company culture means that there is virtually no diversity within the company. Middle and upper management is almost exclusively old white men. It’s The traditional industrial design good old boys club. Unfortunately senior management is comprised almost entirely of former designers and creative leads, thus the company lacks business sense or any sort of actionable strategy. Yes, we have plenty...
