I worked at TECO Energy full-time

    Pros

Name recognition, pizza parties, good training.

    Cons

Being crushed by the Benedict Arnold oops Ramil selling his soul to a Canadian company. So all long time employees are fleeing and incoming employees are just temps anyways.

    Advice to Management

Hope you like your soul burning forever, because you cant take your cash filled pockets to the underworld

    Pros

None unless hired and family member already works there.

    Cons

    Purely sadistic and self serving

    Advice to Management

Make amends now in your best interest

I have been working at TECO Energy full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, that's all I can think of.

    Cons

MICROMANAGEMENT! If you like to be treated like a kindergartner than this is the place for you! Wouldn't surprise me if employees needed to start raising their hands just to use the bathroom

    Advice to Management

The Miami office is such a poorly run location. The management there borders between incompetent and sadistic, TECO/EMERA really needs to clean house there and lose the current managers in that office.

I worked at TECO Energy full-time

    Pros

Great health care and benefits, training, and work

    Cons

Too much meaning less meetings, management doesn't have a clue, pay is low for the work you do, better ways to handle call out.

    Advice to Management

Stop putting all the work on your techs to fix your mess, and get organized about training and operations.

    Pros

    Great oppurtinties for growth
    Great pay and benifits

    Cons

    Long hours on many occasions
    Job stabaility

    Advice to Management

more input from employees on the front lines--and not just those in the large cities such as NY, Chicago, Indianapolis, etc. There's a lot of wealth out there in the other front offices, yet no one asks us to participate in input on new systems, policies, etc. We end up with too many policies and procedures that then have to be retracted because someone didn't even try to see the whole picture.

    Pros

decent company with 401k match and pension plan

    Cons

limited upward mobility, benefits are barely average

    Advice to Management

be honests with your employees. Don't feed them blatantly obvious lies about a situation and have all managers on the same page before communicating mixed information to your team.

"Laid back culture is a blessing and a curse."

    Pros

The culture was relaxed, easy-going, and laid back. There were a lot of senior employees who had a very comfortable job, and for some, this is a big plus.

    Cons

The downside of this work culture is that there is very little motivation, very little opportunity for advancement, and overall seemingly very little accountability. It is a regulated industry, and the employees appear to reflect on that.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time and energy developing corporate employees. Spend more money on bringing in educated engineers who might help overcome energy issues. It is only a matter of time before regulatations force a change in the way the company does business...why not do the research now to be ahead of the curve?

    Pros

401-K, Medical 90-10, 2 week paid vac. first year.

    Cons

not worried about employee, u are just a #, Too many upper management involved over the same job, decisions change from one hour to the next. Too many Good Buddy races going on.

    Advice to Management

Send a single employee in and let him work for a month and ask them what they witnessed.
