I worked at TEKsystems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Gave me my first shot at managing.
Received quality people to run the help desk.
Tried to train when it came to managing - tough to do this though.

    Cons

Started very low in my salary.
No support from above - had to rely on myself - which may have been better in the long term.
No work life balance - but this was my decision - and our account was chaos

    Advice to Management

It was really tough to figure out our end goals for the year - need better communication. I give them credit - they knew that and were working to resolve.

I have been working at TEKsystems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -They give you a job.

    Cons

If you work on site, at the actual TEKsystems office, I'm sure it's great, but for their "consultants" who are placed at different sites, not so much.

-Poor health benefits. It was cheaper for me to just get my own insurance elsewhere
-No vacation days. I'm only given 7 days of sick leave because it is DC law.
-No opportunity for advancement, growth or development - no training offered, no nothing. My most recent "increase" was an extra $0.25/hr. Thanks?

    Advice to Management

    Don't be so greedy.

I worked at TEKsystems as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very good Recruiters pay is always on time or earlier good job experiences

    Cons

Evertime you start a new contract you have to re-do the new hire process and that your first and last checks are mailed instead of direct deposit

I have been working at TEKsystems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They train you so extensively and basically give you the recipe to success, everyone is extremely helpful and people actually want to see you succeed. Upper management is so keen on keeping everyone motivated to keep going, upper management has a fantastic outlook on how to develop individuals and make them successful.

    Cons

Because of all the hoops you have to jump through there is little work life balance, long hours, a lot of cold calling, a lot of ups and down because you can't control people so you'll never be on top and content it's a constant grind, upward battle. Couldn't see myself doing this for a long time because it's not 100% stable but it definitely provided me with a lot of great communication skills and real life experience which opens a lot of doors within sales and marketing and even HR.

    Advice to Management

Put a limit on how many times multiple people can call one person in a certain period of time

    Pros

    Cons

Nothing really at all, but an environment that allows more fun to make it not feel like work.

I have been working at TEKsystems as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

They did get me a job. That's something. I have had such a terrible experience, I have nothing else good to say.

    Cons

I was placed as a contractor through TEKsystems with my client. My paychecks come from TEKsystems. Out of the 8 weeks I have worked there so far, TEKsystems has somehow messed up the paychecks for 3 of those weeks. I was initially not paid for 2 of those weeks; 1 has been resolved so far. The 3rd week, they overpaid me, then backed out that paycheck from my bank account, but has not yet adjusted my pay stubs, so my gross earning (used for tax reporting) is wrong. Every time I call the recruiter in charge of my account, I get excuses, apologies, and promises that there will be no more issues. After 3 times, I have lost confidence in this. I have called the corporate office to speak with someone actually in charge; I have yet to get a call back. TEKsystems has 2 jobs: find me a job and pay me accurately and on-time. The latter has been a frustrating and maddening experience, especially considering I am spending my personal time trying to fix this mess. Never. Again. Job seeker beware.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together! You have one job once I get a contract - to provide accurate and on-time payroll. Clearly that's an issue if I can only get paid accurately 62.5% of the time.

I have been working at TEKsystems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fair salary and the majority of the work is directly for the client with interaction with local reps from the company as needed.

    Cons

The organization offers more services however seems to be held up as staff augmentation only so far.

    Advice to Management

    None at this time.
