  1. "Great company, good people"

I have been working at TELESCOPE full-time

    Pros

This is a great company. Wonderful people, interesting projects. There is always someone who has your back here. Great Team environment. No micromanaging. Must have gumption and take initiative if you want to succeed here.

    Cons

Growing pains as with any company that is expanding at a rapid pace. Needs more hires. It's a learn as you go type of place.

    Advice to Management

There should be standard protocols set in place. For all departments.

I worked at TELESCOPE full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have free coffee? There really are not many perks here. Although they DO pay on time, so I guess that is a bonus.

    Cons

Telescope pays way below market rate, and overworks their employees. They set unreasonable deadlines, and set people up to fail. When you do fail, your very likely to get fired. I have never worked at anyplace that had a higher churn rate. People get fired frequently, and often for reasons beyond their control. Management does not take responsibility for failure, rather preferring instead to punish people further down the food chain.

    Advice to Management

Be accountable, and set people up to succeed. Do not pass blame down the food chain, and fire people when they fail for reasons beyond their control. Fix your culture, and value your employees. Pay market rate.

I worked at TELESCOPE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Learning experience is stellar if you want to really dig in to new technology applications (from a tech perspective)

    Cons

Pay/bonuses are far below industry standard for tech teams
Admins don't understand timelines in a way to reduce stress and overtime for developers
    Developers work overtime without pay
Employees doing the work, work hard and do a good job while management ignores the value the employees put in
Management seems to not do much work, taking off early, spending Friday's in a nail salon, and treating their employees like slaves without recognition
6 figures are given to c-level titles, all others are paid way below standard
    Largest turnovers within 1 year

    Advice to Management

Treat employees fairly with the recognition and pay they deserve.

    Pros

Really fun people to work with, growing company, constantly working on something new and challenging, good amount of PTO days (though no sick days)

    Cons

Really poor pay, can be very stressful due to timelines and unclear requirements, a lot of turnover compared to other places I've worked, CEO is checked out

    Advice to Management

Seems like management is out of touch with reality of company at large and workers. Also consider a major pay increase if you hope to retain employees longer then a year.

I worked at TELESCOPE as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not many. The only thing I liked was that work starts at 10. Its also close to the beach which is ok.

    Cons

Technology is pretty mundane. Doesnt give you much experience and infrastructure is pretty boring. Pay/Bonus are terrible. Senior guys get like 75k I believe lol but business guys that dont do much get 6 figure. Typical startup even after many years in business.

    Advice to Management

    What management?

    Pros

One of only 2-3 Companies in this field.

    Cons

The company squanders profits and pursues lines of business that are not realistic.

    Advice to Management

Stop managing this company like a club.

I have been working at TELESCOPE full-time

    Pros

Telescope is a really wonderful company to work for and working on really innovative campaigns. Everyone is really part of a team and want to help you succeed. There is some flexibility to be able to work from home or remotely and you really gain some valuable technology/digital experience.

    Cons

The sales team doesn't really seem to understand the technology before selling projects so it makes it difficult for the operations and app teams to to organize a project and know the full scope.

    Advice to Management

More training for new employees and the sales team

I have been working at TELESCOPE full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone works together on interesting projects and there is a sense of camaraderie between the employees. Any issues are quickly addressed and the company definitely still has a start-up feel.

    Cons

Growing pains which needs constant process improvement. Working on it.

    Advice to Management

Management is trying to improve communication and transparency that sometimes gives the wrong message to employees.

    Pros

You can get lots of experience working at Telescope. They always have work to be done. There's a lot of opportunities to learn more there if you find a way to push what you want to learn. They're open minded if your ideas can benefit the company on the whole. Benefits are REALLY good. I have to say that their health and 401K are hard to beat with ANY company out there.

They're a very friendly environment and the people there are really fantastic. The environment is relaxed for the most part.

    Cons

Salaries are way below market for all positions below "C" levels, especially for a company making as much money and for a company with so little competition. Management is pretty much 50% of the company making it difficult to understand the decision chain, but worse, some of the managers there don't know what they're doing and pass the responsibilities down until someone knows what to do.

Very innovative products, smart business structure and a focused client service oriented mindset. A very hard working, dedicated team.

    Cons

Not well known outside of core client base. Marketing could be stronger.
