I worked at TELUS (More than 5 years)

    Pros

great benefits, ability to work from home.

    Cons

micromanaged. even trips to the washroom are timed. Many long time employees who just put the time in. I had one coworker who could tell you and will take 'sick leave' the minute he is eligible for full pay time off.

    Advice to Management

consider personal needs and live work balance

I worked at TELUS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Excellent people
    Strong Brand recognition
    Large portfolio
Incumbent network for both mobility and landline

    Cons

    Incumbent issues,
Slow to change (at times, not always).
Silo'd internal infrastructure. ( Common with most large companies).

    Advice to Management

Overall a great place to work. Anyone that has worked within large organizations, the cons are very similar and internally the company is always working to overcome these.

    I worked at TELUS full-time

    Pros

I don't know if there any didn't see anything special.

    Cons

Telus is worst company to work for, reason is they have no respect for you here.
Employees are fired before they can even finish the 6 months BS training they have. if you start showing you care for union you will be let go without any reason because for 6months they don't need to give any reasons to let you go. Friend of mine was sick one day in training she was let go couldn't believe these sick minded managers.
Telus Service discount sucks also for employee only 40% discount if you sign up for all 3 service,

    Advice to Management

Be more active and stop sucking up to your directors and managers. Make the work place more alive. Walking to telus building for work feels like you're in a funeral.

    Pros

Development and training were excellent, as well as the perks such as car allowance and company phone/laptop and the 2/5 days work from home.

    Cons

Sales is non unionized, when laid off management did not try to find a different departments to hire in. Micromanaged at times but overall there was a work life balance as long as you had sales.

    Advice to Management

Not to micromanage, be transparent with employees, and give more room for growth
