    Pros

Development and training were excellent, as well as the perks such as car allowance and company phone/laptop and the 2/5 days work from home.

    Cons

Sales is non unionized, when laid off management did not try to find a different departments to hire in. Micromanaged at times but overall there was a work life balance as long as you had sales.

    Advice to Management

Not to micromanage, be transparent with employees, and give more room for growth

I have been working at TELUS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Solid, well managed company with good benefits. Ongoing training is adequate although system stability sometimes lacking. Work from home option is one of the best in the industry. Regular, semi annual pay increases

    Cons

Work can be repetitive and the continual push to upsell is emotionally draining. Shift work including weekends

    Advice to Management

Increase work life balance with more variety of part time schedules not just weekends and evenings

    Pros

Good pay, pay well for overtime hours. Sales perks and prizes. extensive training program not rushed thru the training.

    Cons

high pressure, to meet stats and sales. Lots of programs to learn and often some are quite confusing in the beginning

    Advice to Management

Take more time to ask employees, what do you feel you need more training on to feel more confident in the job.

    Pros

Home every night. Different job everyday. Great co workers!! Pretty good employee discounts. Great overtime pay when it's available !

    Cons

Pay isn't the greatest. Management expects you to be done a job in way less time then it actually takes.

I have been working at TELUS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Provides good work life balance with the ability to work from home in most cases. Great team to be a part of. Benefits include Stock Option Plan, Performance Bonus, Medical, Dental and contribution pension plan.

    Cons

Salary treatment is determined on a bell curve for Management and Professional team members. No cost of living increase is provided which is a real disatisfier to all team members. If you're not in the top quartile or if you are within 5% of mid salary band don't expect any treatment! You can go several years without an increase even if you're fully contributing to team results

    Advice to Management

Add cost of living salary treatment to those team members who are fully contributing to results and meeting / exceeding personal objectives

    Pros

Benefits are good, peers are good.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive unless you are in sales. Overtime is scrutinized. Advancement is tough and unless you are tied in with upper mgmt. it can be a very difficult climb. The Salary for a manager is also not comparative to the amount of hours worked. Well under paid.

    Advice to Management

Consider engaging employees more and get rid of the Bell curve for rating employees.

I have been working at TELUS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great Senior Leadership. Great Culture. Great Life Balance. Mostly great managers. Awesome people to work with. The company has done a complete about face over the past few years and their consumer facing departments are so customer focused. It's great to see a company listen to it's low level-customer facing employees and make a true change to the customer experience. Easy to move laterally to a different role.

    Cons

Some poor managers exist (not many, but there are some). Pace of change in customer facing departments is very fast. Not enough management to handle existing process and execute changes requested. Must change roles to get a decent raise.

    Advice to Management

Reward employees with experience with better raises, rather than forcing them to move to a different role internally in order to get a raise. Pay someone with experience more than new employees to the company... It will encourage people to stay.
