    Pros

    Great coworkers (really great!)
    Holiday celebrations
    Benefits package
    Location

    Cons

Overworked & underpaid -this company takes that to a totally different level.

9 hour work days but you will need to stay longer or work at home (way too often) after leaving for the day in order to get your tasks completed.

Management is deceiving from my personal experience.

    Low PTO

    Advice to Management

Be honest with those you hire.

    Speak up for your teams.

Make sure you're fully staffed and don't take advantage of people.

If you dislike this place, stop selling it to others - work with upper management to fix it.

I worked at TESSCO (More than a year)

    Pros

Sales team was made up of good, nice, hard working people. Looks good on a resume for starting experience but get out quick!

    Cons

Upper management was very hit or miss, seemed to be no real clear direction of where company was going. Tessco uses old school command line system for sales team, very very out of date. My boss was terrible, came in late everyday and did not give me enough to do.

I have been working at TESSCO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good group of employees who are smart and capable. Company has the foundation to be the leader of the industry

    Cons

The CEO holds this company in the past. Internal systems are command line DOS based and severely limit what you can do both internally and for the customers.

Management is forced to micromanage. Focused on task activity vs. strategy. This comes from the CEO on down.

There is a system in place where you have to log your movements all day. They look down on things like working from home or casual Friday or some of the basics you see in a modern company. Again this is driven from the CEO on down.

    Advice to Management

Tessco's priorities are CEO, Tessco, customers, employees. They have never missed a dividend payout because the CEO is the largest share holder yet they have missed paying the employees. Ideally we should be tied together. This priority list also reflects when we handle customer related problems. We will not take ownership and push items back on the customer.

Your holding yourself back. Modernize and enjoy the growth you so desperately want.

    I worked at TESSCO full-time

    Pros

You work with some great employees and that is the only thing that kept me there so long. This is a great place to work if you are in your 20's and want experience. But, you need to get out of there before you get stuck. Get your experience and run.

    Cons

The supply chain team is clearly the lowest paid and most understaffed office team at the company. Not a good place for long term growth and many people feel stuck, By far, my worst experience while I worked there, was the middle mgt in supply chain. On multiple occasions this "captain" would degrade his employees in front of other teams. I've even seen him get in employees faces and scream at them that they were "liars". After I saw that a few times I gave my notice and didnt even have another job lined up. I informed HR of his actions and absolutely nothing happened,,, Toxic, toxic, toxic

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees and make them feel valued. Yelling and name calling is not appropriate in the work place.. Lastly, investigate middle mgt on the site support supply chain team. From what i have seen....it is inevitable that this mgr will get the company sued

    Pros

ISO certified so they have strict processes which can be good. Never get emails after work or on weekends. So good work/life balance

    Cons

The strict processes are also bad though. This makes it hard to complete sales in a timely manner

    Pros

The people you work with are great
    Benefits are decent
Ability to accrue time off monthly

    Cons

    not much opportunity for growth
pay could be higher for the work load demanded
    micro managing
0 flexibility to work from home at a wireless tech company

    Advice to Management

You shouldn't have to write an essay explaining why you deserve a raise. Please reward people for the efforts. Growth seems more about who you know than what you have accomplished.

I worked at TESSCO full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great Health Benefits. 401K. Some very nice employees, especially in the Reno office.

    Cons

Micro Management. A "Be Seen & Not Heard" culture. Managed by fear. TESSCO is a great starting place for young people right out of college, but not for professional sales people.

    Advice to Management

As a sales-driven organization, you may want to consider valuing your sales staff. The constant beat-down and berating is not necessary to motivate sales professionals. If you continue to perform for the shareholders year after year, why the sky is falling mentality? There will NEVER be change until the CEO learns to take advice from others who may actually have something to offer. Dogma will never make TESSCO a billion dollar organization, get rid of the Yes-Men. Stop forcing employees to watch FOX Television.
