I worked at TETRA Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Pay
    - Atmosphere
    - Crew/Management

    Cons

    - Location
    - Work/Life Balance

    Advice to Management

No advice to management, everyone I interacted with was professional and knew what they were talking about. Of course it’s oilfield work so the work/life balance is always going to be bad but it evens out with the pay, it’s a single mans game to be honest, or at least that’s who will have the easiest time. The company was great, would recommend working here to anyone, unfortunately the location in North Dakota was just unbearable which admittedly has nothing to do with TETRA, but still.

I have been working at TETRA Technologies full-time

    Pros

Company truck, health insurance, fairly steady work

    Cons

No incentives to go above and beyond. No structure for promotions, it is a bunch of buddy buddy. Higher ups are more interested in padding their pockets than they are taking care of employees. Pay is terrible and you get what you pay for.

    Advice to Management

With subpar pay, at least develop your employees, quit waiting for grants to do training, if an employee asks for a course and it makes sense to his/her job then figure out a way to let them do it. Don't promise bonus' and then decide not to give them because times are tough.

I have been working at TETRA Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good headquarters location in The Woodlands, TX. Good technology. Focus on HSE from top to bottom of the Corporation. Some very kind and knowledgeable people.

    Cons

Absolutely zero loyalty here. Innovator's contributions are not recognized. There are bosses and underlings that form clicks and stab the middle managers in the back, so the underlings can take the middle manager's job. Unprofessional school-like atmosphere. The wrong technical people in power.

    Advice to Management

Look closely at your management. They put on a show in front of the senior management but change when senior management is not around.
