    Pros

Got to work with some wonderful professionals, easy to make friends.
The games in development were fun.
    Great communication between departments.
Directors are employee advocates, not enemies.

    Cons

Senior management mishandled the direction of the company.
Major decisions were made with the only consideration being the quarterly report, not quality of product.

    Advice to Management

First focus on supplying a great product, then focus on the investors.

I worked at THQ full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Everyone at THQ was driving toward growing the business. Fun, smart people who weren't afraid to take risks. Company took care of good employees and encouraged new ideas.

    Cons

Too many product development teams with legacies of building inexpensive, low quality kids games, and an unwillingness to kill bad projects before they got to the point of no return.

Out of touch senior executives. Bloated sales and finance divisions. We can product on kids and family portfolio. Inability to change. Weak product on kids and family portfolio. Inability to change.

    Advice to Management

Don't always go with what you know, be open to new ideas and ways to conduct business.

I worked at THQ full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Before the company started to implode on itself, it was a fairly good environment, with a restaurant upstairs for fresh food during breakfast and lunch, and a full stock of drinks and snacks for the long hours...

    Cons

    ....yeah about those long hours.
Especially during the collapse, you should have been aware of the long hours, low appreciation and lack of quality we were putting out.
And don't get me started with the damned tablet nonsense.

    Advice to Management

Maybe don't run a company based solely on crappy kid games. Because when that well of money ran dry (and you pumped millions into the freaking UDraw crap...), everything fell apart.

    Pros

Unfortunately this company is no longer in business. I worked for one of their many design houses and we are one of the few left standing. THQ paid well and the benefits were solid. We also got bonus about every 6 months.

    Cons

They were slow to respond to developer needs. quality level suffered due to low level of expectation. Upper management was a Little disconnected

    Advice to Management

    They are all gone now
