I worked at THQ full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Everyone at THQ was driving toward growing the business. Fun, smart people who weren't afraid to take risks. Company took care of good employees and encouraged new ideas.

    Cons

Too many product development teams with legacies of building inexpensive, low quality kids games, and an unwillingness to kill bad projects before they got to the point of no return.

Great hours, excellent people, excellent benefits, opportunity to work on various projects

Some managers were poor, inexperienced or let their egos get in the way of making quality games. Lots of money spent on opportunities that were never fully realized resulted in cancelling high profile, big budget titles.

    Pros

Unfortunately this company is no longer in business. I worked for one of their many design houses and we are one of the few left standing. THQ paid well and the benefits were solid. We also got bonus about every 6 months.

    Cons

They were slow to respond to developer needs. quality level suffered due to low level of expectation. Upper management was a Little disconnected

    Advice to Management

    They are all gone now

I worked at THQ full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This was a great place to work, made great friends and my name in a game, what more do you need?
They were good in teaching you the skills you need to test as well as giving you a week off for Christmas and new years, which is great if you like to visit family out of town. The hours were good and the location wasn't that far away from where I lived and was able to get to it from the freeway.

    Cons

I had no issues while working here, all the people and the company were great, it just sucked when they were shut down...
