    Pros

Great place to hang out and do the minimum necessary in just about any group. Almost impossible to get fired, except marketing occasionally chases people out. If you're in Engineering, you can find some good stuff to do that will give you a good product on your resume.

    Cons

Lack of senior management direction, beginning with a CEO who lacks any experience outside the organization. Product Management and Marketing leadership is weak and has little influence on the Engineering organization. Overall senior management is comparatively weak vs. peers in the industry. Marketing budget is limited and spent unwisely. Product Management lacks leadership. HR is treated as a legal compliance group, with zero investment in developing internal resources. Compensation is a favoritism system and nobody knows how it works. Company focused on avoiding mistakes, instead of focused on successes.

    Advice to Management

Vivek - sell the company and retire. Acknowledge that you've done well for yourself, and then get out of the way. Or else, decide you need to get rid of the senior management team and hire people who will challenge you.

    Pros

tibbr (TIBCO's corporate social networking software) has potential. However, whether or not they'll realize it's full potential is anyone's guess. Decent pay when compared with the gaming industry, and fair hours (while a contractor). Good group of people, if you're accepted into the clique.

    Cons

Segregated work environment. Fairly dense Indian population with gated attitudes, and/or behavior. [This could be a personal observation, but I've felt that] Because I'm not Indian, I'm an outcast. Poor communication from upper management to production team. Serious-serious bottlenecks. Nothing is documented, so the management style is, "shoot from the hip." Rather than address management issues, and taking steps to resolve the issues, they take the easy way out, and lay off the people whom they lovingly refer to as, "the problem."

    Advice to Management

You need to reassess your situation. I don't understand how you call yourselves "results driven," when you don't document any of your triumphs/failures. How can you tell people you're making progress when you have nothing to compare your "success" to? A serious restructuring needs to occur at the managerial level in order for survival.

    Pros

    Good products & Technologies
laid back, balanced life if you're not in client facing roles ( Professional services, pre-sales, sales)

    Cons

if you're on work visa be ready to be a slave here. And even dare to think your GC will be filed n EB2( your qualifications, experience doesn't matter).
     - anytime you face any visa issues( RFE, or blue slips etc) you'll be fired immediately even though it's lawyers fault. but he cover his a s s and will get u fired. Your manager wont care

Most of the managers are pathetic. They are manager because they have been with company for 15-20 yrs. They do not know leadership or how to respect people.
Keep working and don't expect anything from manager. he wont be of any help at any time.

Other than Vivek, there is no leader. Everyone else just follows. none of them are decision makers. dont have any leadership skills.

    Advice to Management

software is about people. IP comes with techies and that's real assets of technology firms. Learn from Google, Facebook, yahoo, groupon. They hire the best and don't try to exploit. Tibco s lowest payer n the silicon valley and they behave as if they are doing favor by giving job. No there are plenty jobs for good engineers.

company needs totally restructuring in management( middle to senior)

    Pros

Good for technical people to learn and find a better company

    Cons

This is a grossly mismanaged organization that will destroy your career , You wont make any money even if you sell as they will not pay you commissions, The will offer you a high OTE and a great compensation plan but will not recognize your sales or call your account a house account that disqualify you for payment no policy arbitrary decisions . This is not a place for coin operated sales people only people who are happy on the base salary and being your managers slaves and the Sales leadership has absolutely no sales management experience and with that leadership they want to compete with SAP, IBM and Oracle

    Advice to Management

Please get your act together, Get a decent HR ..treat your employees with respect and dignity

I worked at TIBCO Software full-time

    Pros

Free snacks and other than that I can't think of anything else that is good.

    Cons

LogLogic division has too many politics, favors, and traps that you have to be part of them or you will be gone sooner or later. Are you in good shape if your manager doesn't answer your email and doesn't discuss things go wrong when you seek him for advice? Not sure why he is hired to be a manager. I don't want to blame Tibco but they can't just ignore it. Send your management people to classes that teach them how to manage people the right way. HR would say they will listen and NOTHING is being done. If you want to work for a Chinese communist style management, then join this division. I have enough of it and I feel sick to my stomach and want to throw up when I even think about what I've been through.

    Advice to Management

You know what you need to do.

I worked at TIBCO Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

One of the pros to working at Spotfire were my colleagues and peers. We all identified that there was no formal system in place to get things done (even though this is a public company!) and we managed to pull through every time. As a team.

    Cons

Alignment is an illusion. From products and services to management there is no unity. One hand does not know what the other is doing, and will not communicate it even if they are in the same building.

    Advice to Management

Get out from behind your desks and talk to your people. Stop managing through email. And when you do manage, do not repeat what someone told you who has no experience with what they are dictating (ie. sales). Learn from your people who are doing the legwork, report that feedback up the chain and have a dialogue with peers and upper management. The biggest problem this company has is communication. It's a publicly traded corporation... fix it!
