Some employee are great to work with.

    Cons

Need to know how to higher better managers and teach them how to treat people. If you complain about your manager to upper management you just might lose your job.

    No Growth/ discrimination

    Moral is very low

CEO/VP's and Directors need to see how Managers are treating employees and not bullying them.

    Pros

Smart Engineers to work with and awesome products.

    Cons

Not friendly if you are a person working on some VISA. Not friendly for immigration help when you are at the company or you leave the company.
The HR department or Immigration department is not at all helpfull.
They do not think of the immigration situation of a person at all.

    They have POLICIES for everything.
Obtaining Employment verification Letters has Policies and a personal recommendation also has Policies.

    Advice to Management

    LOOK INTO YOUR POLICIES

I worked at TIBCO Software full-time

    Pros

There used to be great products once but most of the great engineering staff has left for Pivotal, Apcera, RedHat, Oracle, etc. There used to be good people around but they have left too in last 2-3 years. Who's left: the really really bad ones.

    Cons

Suffering from crisis of leadership. Ask the CEO his bank balance, he might know it. Ask him what his strategy is, he will walk away because he doesn't have any. The truth is that Vista is milking the maintenance revenue stream and not investing a dime on new stuff. Engineers are busy building their resumes and don't care at all for what customers are asking for in the market. Tableau, Kafka, Pivotal, Mulesoft, et all are eating TIBCO for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. The middle management are bunch of insecure, passive-aggressive egomaniacs because they dont know any better. They are sticking around because no one else will hire them. Overall, stay away from TIBCO in today's age.

    Advice to Management

Just let it go. Accept your failures and invite an outsider to breathe some excitement in the ranks. You have been at it for 30 years and you have no energy left anymore.

I worked at TIBCO Software full-time

    Pros

They have good benefits, good 401K and good time off.

    Cons

The morale is horrible, the higher level executives spend money on things like presidents club and spend thousands of dollars for things that benefit them, yet they say they cannot give bonuses and raises! No one respects the CEO or the Head of HR. People speak badly about them everywhere. Lots of politics in this company. Its all about who you know. Only some departments allow working from home, most do not. Lots of bad managers. If the CEO is not a supporter, that trickles down the chain.

    Advice to Management

Stop spending unnecessary money, invest in your employees. try to retain the good employees and get rid of the bad ones. Retrain your management to become better managers.

    Pros

narrow area for revenue - primarily middleware. Other areas are not growing - they are late in the game. This should be a strength, because generally narrow focus brings better execution.

    Cons

    - Lack of depth in management to understand the market trends. Busy looking for ways for profitable exit.
    - high employee churn and everybody is insecure, especially senior management. the PE is watching over everybody.
    - Promotion and career development a joke. It doesn't mean much -
    - HR loves to fire employees, without reason - change of face, not good looking enought - are also sighted as reasons.

    Advice to Management

Develop and trust people. Don't be insecure about your employees or products.

I worked at TIBCO Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible working, nice colleagues, great office, internal mobility, good benefits.

    Cons

Shockingly bad management capability. Massive focus on cost cutting over efficiency. The only thing about Tibco thats similar to a start up is the chaos! Primarily caused by outdated or nonexistent process flows, which you need to learn if you don't have the onhand support. It isn't pragmatic or fast moving. Terrible communication and no expectations setting. I don't think my Line Manager was representative of the general population; she bullied me on my first day so it was actually a relief that I was let go within a few weeks.

    Advice to Management

You really need to invest in your managements capability. They are the most unskilled managers I've worked with in 20 years. Only leading by example of senior managers will impact the bad behaviours prevalent in the organisation.

    Pros

There are some great people who work for the company
    The base salary is okay

    Cons

Massively complicated commission structures. This results in endless mistakes in payment and a commissions team who are hapless.
There is no plan or strategy for the company. The effect is a rudderless ship that pitches from wave to wave resulting in employees not knowing what the focus is.
Senior Management positions are filled based on 'who is on the club' rather than ability.
An attitude of doing business at any cost rather than doing the right business.
Employees are treated appallingly and there opinions are not listened to. If they question the wrong member of the 'leadership' team then they are quickly and quietly discarded. The focus is on 'punish and police' rather than to help engage, motivate and develop. Career development does not exist.
There is a culture of mistrust and a lack of empowerment.
Nothing will improve under the current management structure.

    Advice to Management

Hire a new exec team based on ability rather than who are your mates. Get a strategy and start to execute.

    Pros

The chance to work with a global executive that will make you look like a top global executive in comparison.
Genuinely good people in the work place across many sites around the world.

    Cons

No real strategy. Expensively hires multiple people then off loads them as a result of poor global management. Sets the company back years every time there is a wave of redundancies. No job security.
Good luck getting commission paid. They will do anything to avoid paying commission.
Product has been under developed and entry to as a service has been poor.
Strategy to milk existing customers is ill conceived and will lead to an erosion of accounts.
No idea how to generate new customers.
A global executive who seem to have been promoted for years of service. I believe the entire executive are guilty of dragging the company down
The company messes with your pay. It's inaccurate or late or they reschedule it to suit TIBCO but at employee cost.
Senior execs do lots of unnecessary travel.

    Advice to Management

This was a good company: innovate and have a long term strategy. Stop the hire and fire cycle. Honestly after all of the vetting that goes into hiring back yourselves you might have found a good team.
Swearing in global/ regional calls doesn't make you a hard nosed senior executive - it makes you seem like a fool.
