I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Annual raise based on performance, scheduling is flexible

    Cons

Managers don't communicate with each other

    Advice to Management

When an employee tells you about a scheduling conflict or issue that's affecting their work, take it seriously & communicate it to the other managers! It's hard for the employee to track down all members of management when they all have varying work schedules.

I worked at TJ Maxx full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job was enjoyable. Lots of creative flexibility and independence. Coworkers and management was great. Offered good benefits.

    Cons

For the work load, the pay was subpar. High pressure to complete tasks.

    Advice to Management

Don't spread employees too thin. Hire more employees for stocking and dedicate more employees to the register. As a coordinator, on busy days I would spend hours at the register and have little time to complete merchandising tasks.

I worked at TJ Maxx full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits and associate opportunities. There are opportunities for growth and management positions are available. TJMaxx likes to promote from within and regularly promotes its coordinators to ASM's. Great training, if you find the right management team, and great benefits for full time associates.

You'll also learn customer service, the benefit of team and the overall business of retail.

    Cons

Work load can get heavy and turn over rates are high.

    Advice to Management

Train, train, train your associates. Especially the front line associates.
