    Pros

A good reason to work at TJ Maxx is that the management and staff are highly dedicated to providing a safe and healthy work environment for their employees and customers. It is a job that allows the employee to remain active in the workplace, without getting dirty or straining themself too hard.

    Cons

The greatest downside of working at TJ MAXX was the amount of hours I could work in a week. Most weeks would be 4-8 hours, and some weeks I wouldn't be scheduled for work at all. A 20 hour work week was unheard of for new employees like me. I would deffinitely reccomend having a second job if you intend to work full time or even part time.

    Advice to Management

I advise TJ MAXX leadership to give their employees more hours, instead of hiring mass amounts of people and giving them hardly any hours at all. An employee feels more valued and appreciated when they are given more hours than just the minimal amount that can be given by law.

I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is like a family there-they watch out for each other. Alot of fun at work too! and you get first dibs on all the cool stuff that comes in! All the associates were always great, and the managers always had your best interest at heart at my store. A great mix of people. And they give you breaks and you actually GET to take them.

    Cons

You have to push credit cards all the time-and it's really annoying

    Pros

Great company to work for! Benefits are good, customers are great and job keeps you busy, making for a quick day.

    Cons

Freight flow could be better, so it is more likely to get out the same day.

    Advice to Management

always remember to take care of your employees and they will take care of you. their families are #1, job is always #2.

I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Was my first "real" job, worked on and off for almost 3 years...Great for part-time employment. I loved my managers even though I sometimes felt under-appreciated. They were very understanding about personal situations and make you feel like family in a way.

    Cons

Unless you are working towards a management positions it isn't a career job.

I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, you can basically work any days you want. Requesting days off is easy. Generally a relaxed atmosphere. The job is easy enough that anyone can learn it, but not so easy that it becomes boring.

    Cons

Pay is low with little opportunity of increasing. After working their for 3 years you will probably be making a dollar and a half more than when you started.
