    Pros

Great company to work for, always looking to improve their employees and the environment.

    Cons

If you don't show interest in moving up or bettering yourself they don't tell you of the things you can do as well as the things they can do for you to help.

I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time

    Pros

    People
Rewarded for being best store in region (20% off weekends, catered meals, gift cards)
    Flexible scheduling
    Higher than min wage

Only worked there for 3 months and have been asked to move from cashier to a merchandising associate where I would have my own part of the store to do what I want with. Declined due to scheduling (cant work 40 hr weeks) and they said its always open and have asked me to train to be cec and cash office associate. Our store is best in region and great to work at.

    Cons

Only scheduling you for 5hr 45 min so you get one 15 min break and no lunch break, especially when you're scheduled night shift 415-10

I have been working at TJ Maxx full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Never boring. Every day is like Christmas, you never know what’s coming off the truck. The flexibility to make merchandising decisions based on stock, trends, and what the local customers are buying.

    Cons

Continuity between management styles leads to favoritism. Sometimes the corporate expectations are impossible to meet within the payroll limitations.

    Advice to Management

Communication is key to helping everyone in the store stay on the same page. Embracing that will motivate and empower the employees to succeed. We can’t meet goals if we don’t really known or understand what they are.

    Cons

cons are probably common of all retail places- frequent theft and lots of interactions with unreasonable customers

I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexible-ish schedules
    Hard to get fired
    Willing to train

    Cons

    Little room for growth
    Unrealistic store closing expectations sometimes

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to be more organized in the closing process and stop under scheduling employees because the few that are there have to pick up the slack.

    Pros

I worked with people around my age so it was fun when all of us were scheduled together

    Cons

They demand a lot out of you considering that I was part-time and a highschool student. They always remind you that you could lose your job if you dont sell credit cards, which can cause you to get really stressed.
