I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great merchandise, flexibility with scheduling, some nice people, nice work place, great area (so always busy) and pretty cool coworkers

    Cons

Managers get mad that they have flexible schedules, e.g., never enough people to work on a busy day. Hated the bathroom for women needs more stalls. Not always a happy environment when there are too many women working.

    Advice to Management

    Make bugger bathrooms

I worked at TJ Maxx full-time

    Pros

Good experience. It was my summer job off of school. Friendly coworkers and nice work enviorment

    Cons

Fast pace (which is not nessisarily a bad thing) but at times thinking through a problem would be better than just jumping to an answer / solution.

    Advice to Management

(Not a problem 95% of the time) but keep listening to your employees.

I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros of this job.

    Cons

Severely understaffed and refuse to hire more people, calling associates out of their depts. on the floor to come for back up on cashier which doesn't allow enough time for the floor associate to recover their area, and horrible management that never listens.

    Advice to Management

Listen to associates and post schedules on time so that there are no clashes for personal time, don't treat associates badly and make them do your errands and job around the store.

I worked at TJ Maxx full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers and managers were mostly fun and easy to work with. Good first job!

    Cons

Scheduling is a joke at times, and the pay starts low and never substantially increases.

    Advice to Management

Offer better raises for loyal employees

I worked at TJ Maxx (More than a year)

    Pros

    - pay was pretty good for menial work
    - flexible schedule
    - laid-back environment

    Cons

    - discount was only 10% off
    - lack of organization
    - really boring job
    - management was annoying and forgetful

    Advice to Management

I know there are a bunch of employees, but try to keep up with them and remember to train them properly and be mindful. Also, I was there for almost a year and they never fully trained me at the register even though I asked multiple times, so I was stuck on the floor and fitting rooms and couldn't help up front whenever it was busy.

I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Friendly, Discount Perks, 401k, (Benifets for full time).

    Cons

Little to no training, policy changes not kept up on informing employees, turn over and call outs, favoritism, schedueling difficulty

    Advice to Management

Be a leader not a Boss we work better with guidance than being belittled. Get to know your employees strengths and place them correctly. Get rid of cell phones on the floor! Please step in and see how things flow but be hands on with the approach. Security for the store at close if anything please!
