I worked at TJX Companies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working here was a great experience. Most of the people are just great co-workers and TJ Maxx supports great causes such as Cancer Awareness and Alzheimer's.

    Cons

A few cliques and long term employees who think they run the show at times. Also, if you are not in a certain clique there is no room for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff (supervisors and employees) most of them seem to be honest and will express the issues that pose an opportunity.

I worked at TJX Companies (More than 5 years)

    Pros

TJ Maxx always had nice employees at every location I went and I like their products. Backroom work was always better.

    Cons

Very monotonous. Clock in clock out structure. Not much room for advancement for younger people. Cleaning up can be a mess.

    Advice to Management

This is a big company so not too much can be changed. But I do think that TJ Maxx could definitely offer a better way for advancement for young people or would be better if they offered a way to look up internal transfers and advancement.

I worked at TJX Companies part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Store has many unique items that are culturally diversified and would accent many homes in America today. The staff is friendly and the work atmosphere is light. The managers are approachable and are willing to hear and help with any problems you may have.

    Cons

The hours at this store are sporadic even if you are full time and you must keep an average of thirty hours per week to qualify for benefits

    Advice to Management

Management should get together more to have the same vision instead of the associate trying to guess which approach will get the least resistance.

I worked at TJX Companies part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

no real pros except for the discount, but even then that alone didnt make the job worth it. A young person with little responsibility would find this job decent.

    Cons

little pay, forced to push credit cards, endless lines, short lunch, they check your bag before you leave. too much work for too little pay

    Advice to Management

quit being so hard on employees who dont swindle customers into credit cards.

I worked at TJX Companies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits. Paid days off. Nice management and co-workers.

    Cons

Lots of OT depending on the season. Can be hard labor some days. Some co-workers do not follow procedures in order to meet production which causes more work for other associates. Supervisors call up meetings to discuss these issues but never enforce them.

    Advice to Management

    Enforce proper work methods.
