I have been working at TLC Engineering for Architecture full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for growth; engagement. Never ending challenges - and recognized and rewarded for commitment and owning your work.

    Cons

The industry is fast paced and demanding. If you aren't willing to make work a priority, then you ought to consider another career choice.

    Advice to Management

Stay true to what has made us an employer of choice; while also looking forward.

I have been working at TLC Engineering for Architecture full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

TLC offers the best experience in consulting engineering. The management focuses on delivering excellent service and products while valuing their employees as the best asset. The projects are top notch, high profile work. Your focus is on your clients but you are never treated as a number. In-house training and advancement is available to all employees. Managers discuss your future goals and assist you in getting there. TLC has been in business over 60 years and it shows. They have figured out an excellent balance between work/life for the employees.

    Cons

Some of the middle management will not break from design practices that are outdated. Extra busy work is created because of this. Things could be done more efficiently if standards were followed by all employees, including the project managers.

    Advice to Management

Iron out the details of the company standards, abandon old ways of design and use the tools on hand for more efficient processes. Develop a mentoring program so lower level employees can discuss career options with management.

The HR team has been friendly and welcoming since I started. There is a great sense of teamwork and collaboration throughout the company. Everyone has a high sense of urgency and cares about what they do.

    Cons

Nothing really. We are always looking to streamline processes, so we are always busy in a good way.

Thank you for encouraging professional development.
