  • Only positive thing I can think of is employee discount on hotel rooms (in 4 reviews)

  • Because the company is large the health insurance is reasonable (in 3 reviews)

Cons
  • Not much room for advancement due to long tenure of upper management (in 8 reviews)

  • This company doesn't show any appreciation for employees and they take advantage of their housekeeping staff and especially the front desk employees (in 6 reviews)

    Pros

    Honestly couldn't feel like I've had a better chance of advancement and opportunity with this company. I could say a million things about this hospitality. They promote from within, treat you like family from the getgo. That alone won my dedication by a long shot. The feeling you're actually innovating the guests experience is a virtue. So wether I have a bad day or a good day, my focus is entirely on impressing the guest to make sure that their stay is worthwhile by being rememerable.

    I couldn't say much really, maybe advertisement.

    Good manager makes the difference. It all depends on who your boss is.

    Cons

    If you get the wrong area manager or regional manager it will not be fun.

    They hire wonderful people often and sometimes try to make work fun

    Cons

    Some managers are horrible at their job but great people, wages aren't great, high turnover often

    Management tends to not give credit to the employees that are making their hotels great, while appreciating the hard work that everyone is working together on.

    Pros

    I thought ESOP was good until it was time to collect
    Nothing was as it appeared. Room discount is nice

    Cons

    When you go to roll over or cash out esop they hold it for 5 years. Someone needs to start a new lawsuit unless they release the money we earned. Greedy greedy !

    Advice to Management

    Release the entire esop amount so that we can invest as we would like. It was earned as the pay is so low ..... you promise something and I knew there would be a catch.

    There is nothing that I can think of. This company is horrible. The manager needs more training. I wouldn't recommend!

    Cons

    Horrible Pay, horrible hours, the higher management all horrible! I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone! I would recommend the Hilton.

    Pros

    Pros

    The actual staff of the hotels are amazing and the hardest workers in the company

    Cons

    You could tell that upper management and the corporate office were more concerned about what was going on up in Fargo than what was going on at the ground level of the hotels. When Regional management and higher would visit the properties they didn't care about meeting or getting to know the employees or the other managers, they wanted to meet with the GM and move on.
    Like most industries, there is a revolving door of people and its a giant game of chess with managers and other personnel. Don't get used to your GM because they'll probably be gone within a year. The wrong people get promoted and the people working the hardest get used as scapegoats.

    Advice to Management

    Go back to your original motto - Impressing Employees, Impressing Guests, Impressive Results... put the effort back to the house and you'll get the retention you want and the results you desire.
