I have been working at TMS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy work. Quality goals are pretty low. Decent pay for the area.

    Cons

Poor management. Benefit's fluctuate pretty drastically. Lots of leading on for internal opportunity which they then hire from outside the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep your promise, hire from within, stop backwards progression. The biggest issue I have is you would rather make a job harder because the rules are outdated than change the rules to make the job easier and better structured.

I worked at TMS Health (More than a year)

    Pros

The interview process was a rigorous 3 part interview with up to 4-5 different Supervisors and department managers from both TMS and Roche Diagnostics. A demonstration of how well you can instruct a person on how to use a Blood Glucose Meter is part of the process and you are given just 15 minutes of prep time.
The initial classroom training is an intense 2 1/2 weeks long with frequent quizzes and tests.
The entire OJT period can last more than 5 months depending how fast you can meet the three stage performance requirements.
You learn a lot about yourself during this period and this continues throughout your employment.
Many transferable skills such as communication, troubleshooting, critical decision making, accountability, goal setting, and personal drive are gained and strengthened.

    Cons

The benefits package is not very good. High deductible and only 80/20 after it is exceeded.
No scheduled pay increases. The only extra pay each month is a two tier bonus program based on very demanding Metrics/KPI's that have to do with measuring time.
    Extremely micromanaged environment.
TMS employees have to take unpaid holidays off that Roche employees get paid for.
The job can be incredibly mentally and physically, stressful for long periods of time depending on how you deal with stress. This is due to customer hold times, as well as dealing with angry, stubborn, physically and mentally degraded individuals etc.
Very little down time or interaction with coworkers.
Very little chance for quick advancement into Roche.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to make TMS employees feel like equals to their Roche counterparts. It raises moral and makes TMS employees feel more respected and valued.
Provide more opportunity for career growth both within TMS but also Roche.

I worked at TMS Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You'll meet a lot of great and diverse co-workers that are smart and personable. The office in Boca Raton is located in a scenic commerce park. Very nice.

    Cons

Management does not value their employees, although they continually suggest that they do. When I started working there, I was amazed at how much negativity there was among the employees, and I made it a mission of mine to be as positive as possible, and to do what I could to help change the culture. After about 18 months, I began to realize that my efforts were in vain, as management had no sincere interest in helping to change the culture there. Their only concern was the bottom line. I left TMS almost 3 years ago and have been working at a successful organization that truly values their employees! It's funny how employees seem to be more productive when they are treated well.

    Advice to Management

Hire good people and treat them as if they are a valued commodity.

    Pros

Good training, managers are there to help, relaxed work enviroment

    Cons

lack of growth, very repetitive, lack of work life balance due to 3hrs of PTO per check, Shifts are based on favorites

    Advice to Management

Management does a good job, but shifts should be rotated so that everyone works the shifts not just the same people

    Pros

Better than a lot of call centers, but not being as bad as Charles Manson, doesn't make one good

    Cons

Dishonest, cynical management. Constantly makes promises of changes that never happen. Only friends and Kool-Aide drinkers can get promoted. Cheating is rewarded

    Advice to Management

Make focus be about actually trying to provide value to the client rather trying to make it look like you provide value to the client

I worked at TMS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can meet great people there, I made some great friendships there.

    Cons

The pay, the constant change in commission structure, the lies from upper management, the arrogance of the Executives - the way people are treated, the unprofessionalism through out - this was ONLY a paycheck, I hate that I gave these people 2+ years of my life - AND YES, I left on my own terms - not one of their notorious surprise layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Get out if you can - even the managers are just numbers.
