I have been working at TNT Fireworks full-time

    Pros

Wonderful atmosphere, community outreach and support is amazing.

    Cons

The pay could always be better. Some jobs are harder than others and feel like they could be better compensated for that.

I worked at TNT Fireworks part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great boss! Need to get out of the warehouse. The clients are crazy but fun when you get to know them.

    Cons

Some inter-fighting between management. This made it difficult because you would run out of product only to find out that it was taken by a different section of the warehouse.

    Advice to Management

Have someone who oversees all levels of fireworks from safe and sane up to class C. This will decrease the conflicts between management.

    Pros

Working year round for TNT is great. The moderate off season is makes up for the extremely busy selling seasons. Which is expected for a seasonal company. Because TNT is so big and has the major retail lease contracts they are a better option to do fundraisers with by default of being on the best locatioand.

    Cons

lots of communication errors. No one assumes responsibility and tries to pass the blame. They have done things well for a long time, which shows in them being the biggest brand out there, but they tend to be stubborn and stuck in a rut with what worked 20 yrs ago... They are slowly making changes to get caught up with the times. Similar companies do way better with pricing for the public, and other companies have made it a better value for individuals and groups that use fireworks as a fundraiser.

    Advice to Management

Spend time training those that work for you. Have actual training material for those you hire. Yes learning from those in real life situations is key, but a basic outline will help the learning process. Also, let staff know they are a team. Operations wouldn't have jobs without the sales team, sales team needs licensing. Management needs to be involved with every part. We know you are busy but insight from those that have done it for many years is helpful. Be open to change and don't brush off new ideas.

I worked at TNT Fireworks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The seasonal nature of the job allows down time. Fireworks are fun and the customers are there to have a good time.

    Cons

The pay rate isn't great and management is very disorganized. There is a lot of downtime prior to the busy season which should be utilized to plan for the season, but isn't.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time supporting the stores and laying the groundwork for the season ahead of time.

    Pros

There were absolutely no pros for working at TNT. Unless you count staying overnight at firework tent to be a pro.

    Cons

Cons? Where do I begin. You work many many many more hours than what you get paid for. The fireworks are a waste of money for what you're getting. All around a big flop. Don't waste your time. Or money.
