I worked at TRC Companies (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not employed long enough after our takeover to make any solid observations. The corp. employees that came to our office were very nice. Average benefits.

    Cons

When TRC bought my old co. there was a lot of big talk about how great it was going to be going forward. Less than 6 months later they laid about 80 of the about 100 people in my local office off due to lack of work. Apparently, they forgot to back up all the claims. Totally expected though. In my case, lots of mismanagement that costs us clients and work.

    Advice to Management

In the former WB group you have WAY too many "managers" knocking their heads together. We LITERALLY missed our hard deadline and prob the client due to bumbling mismanagement on the last proj. I worked on. I worked LONG hours and Saturdays to get ahead. All I got for it was laid off.

Local managers were disappointing. I gave them a contact for a potential new client and new business and NOBODY acted on it. Ponderous.

I have been working at TRC Companies (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Paid Time Off, healthcare. Everyone has laptops which makes it easier to work whenever and wherever you need to

    Cons

They are corporate America. Focused more on profit than the happiness of their employees. Raises are few and far between. Not a lot of room to grow

    Advice to Management

Make offices more employee friendly. Stop with the cube farm mentality. Show more appreciation to your employees by offering promotions and raises and updated office furniture.

    Pros

Decent pay, rarely see or talk to you boss when you're in the field, company vehicle, a lot of overtime if you want it

    Cons

There's a big company feel to TRC, you don't really matter, all that matters is that you're making money for the shareholders. All management cares about is the bottom line

    Advice to Management

Be more active in the work that people in the field do. We don't really get any support from management
