I worked at TRX full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Loved my boss. Best I've ever worked for.
Loved the work, it was challenging and exciting.
    Learned tons.
Liked most of my colleagues and a few of the managers.

Most days were fun, at least in the beginning.
Once Concur came sniffing around (before and after the take-over)... Not so good.

    Cons

    Work, work, work, work, work...
    Work on days,
    Work through lunch
    Work on nights,
    Work through dinner
    Work after midnight,
    Work on weekends,
    Work during holidays,
Work on vacations (Vacation? What's that?),
    Work on sick days
If it was possible, I would probably have had to work in my sleep and in the shower

Little or no recognition for good, hard work
Accolades and recognition were mostly quid-pro-quo, so if you weren't in the "club," you were invisible
    Nepotism and favoritism
    Gossiping and back-biting
    Micro-managers and credit-takers
HR department was great, until the VP of HR quit. Then it all went south.
Upon Concur's acquisition, a lot of lying and back-stabbing. Not just among co-workers who were worried about their job status, but mostly from Concur's executive leadership.

    Advice to Management

Hiring friends isn't always the best idea.
If you like someone's work enough to hire them, trust them to do the best job they can.
Be supportive and advocate for your employees. Don't let them be bowled over by bullies and micro-managers.
Don't gossip about past employees, or existing employees. It sets the tone for the whole department.
    Be honest.
    Be fair.

    Pros

Great office, good social hours, everyone worked hard.

    Cons

Negativity would occasionally hit the office on such a level that it could be unbearable at times.

    Advice to Management

Stick to the basics and don't go outside your scope. Empower the talent you have to do more.

    Pros

Full time work with benefits. Business casual dress code rarely enforced. Supportive during family loss.

    Cons

Leads have favorites and it shows. No raises for 5+ years...pay cuts across the board. Micro managers

    Pros

The acquired Hi-Mark Software and one of the best Data Solutions on the market. Little competition in the T&E arena and grea product to sell

    Cons

To many changes in Senior Management and the focus of the company. Finally it was the sales of the company to Concur Technologies

    Pros

Salary was average, able to work remotely. When I first started at the company they seems great but after many changes the family atmosphere went away and it just because another business.

    Cons

Salary was average. Felt like being a number and not a person with them. not the best place to work.

    Advice to Management

Listen to you employees and don't just to conclusions

    Pros

Global Company offices in EMEA, India and several locations in USA . Top of the line software solutions

    Cons

Weak business plan. Could not coordinate leadership into one cohesive working group.

    Advice to Management

Changes came in December with outage of CEO and VP Marketing and Sales. Changes in VP of IT and Software Development lead to other slow reaction to the marketplace.

I worked at TRX full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The 60 mile one way drive 5 days a week didn't bother me because I loved my job so much

    Cons

The only job I had been fired from 2 months after receiving a 7% raise when the avg was 2%. HR took the word of someone who had a theft conviction about something that happened on a day I wasn't even at work.

    Advice to Management

Be careful who your HR department believes as that person may want someone out of the way for a promotion.
