Kafka Couldn't Dream
May 12, 2023 - Fraud Analyst in Columbus, GARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Decent pay and benefits, PTO and vacation days.
Cons
The systems you're expected to use are finicky and barely functional on a good day. Tech issues are near constant and there seems to be a general air of complacency towards fixing any of these problems when they're brought up. Can feel akin to talking to a brick wall. Policies can feel extremely contradictory and counter-intuitive, especially when it comes to managing the workload. Burnout is frequent. Management tends to ignore employee complaints and simply expects you to work around any problems you might have, but then reprimands you if this is done in a manner they don't approve of. Decisions made by the higher-ups in the company generally have a tendency to make things worse as opposed to better, i.e. deciding to take on new high-volume bank clients when we struggle to service the clients we already have. Reflects a disconnect between the people making the business decisions and the people actually doing the work. Unrealistic expectations. High turnover rate. New hires will come in from training and within a month or two the vast majority of them will have dropped like flies. Of the class I came in with, only I and one other person stuck it out longer than six months. As with most customer-service positions, dealing with the customers themselves is a roulette. Expect to be yelled at and hung up on regularly, and in other cases WISH you were getting hung up on when they actually stay on the line. Will make you feel significantly worse regarding the human condition.

Pros
The work schedule is decent
Cons
Bait and switch, the initial job that was posted stated it was for a Fraud Specialist Call Center --Outbound Remote. Once you are in training they inform you this is an inbound call center job. The training really is not that great. The management team once you leave training is terrible. The management teams play favorites with people. When you ask management a question about something, you always get a different answer. Nothing is ever consistent. The equipment that they provide you with for WFH is absolutely the worst crap I have ever seen. They send used headsets, and the Lenovo Think Centre M Series is junk. The software that they use takes forever to load and you have to boot everything up at least 30 minutes before your shift in order to be on time. During your shift the systems freeze up all the time, they also time out every five minutes and the Avaya phone drops calls left and right. Much needed improvement in all areas of this company is needed. Would not recommend to anyone at all.

Passive-Racism and Favoritism is within this company.

Work from home with good health benefits.
Cons
Doesn't matter how hard you work here everything is based off of one call a week. And that is where favoritism plays in they can instantly fail any call they want to fail you on for whatever reason. Despite the quality of the call they can make up a reason. And your employment will be terminated after four months of failed calls which means one call a week.

Pay, outdated systems, management sucks. They send broken equipment also the equipment was nasty. There was a lot of ear wax in the head set I was sent. Training was all over the place.

Provide equipment and wfh. Training is too long (but I'd rather have that than not enough)
Cons
managers seem to not know the job you are doing and can never really help. Also seem to micromanage when they don't even know what is happening.

At Least I'm Employeed
Feb 24, 2022 - Fraud Department in Columbus, GARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Pay rate has been increased to $15 an hour min Steady work Some good co-workers
Cons
Overtime is extreme in certain departments Overtime can be assigned last minute (if you get off at 5 they can and will tell you at 4:55 that you have to stay until 7) Absolutely no work life balance Work their people too hard If you're a "heavy hitter" or can handle large workloads expect to work much more than mediocre workers A lot of nepotism, and its obvious Management can be flaky at times & most are self proclaimed workaholics Promised raises were not given after the increase to $15 No merits during COVID
