I have been working at TTI Texas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work environment where most people are friendly and polite.

    Cons

Lots of tenure here so your chance of moving up is limited until people retire. Management can block you from applying to another position within the company if they don't want you moving

    Pros

Stable Company, owned by Berkshire Hathaway.
    People are number 1 importance
    Electronics is never going away
    Invest in inventory and people
    Excellent Training

    Cons

Because it is stable and they make good business decision they also pay the least of its competitors.
You must work in a branch to move up and grow with the company. No very many growth opportunities at Corporate office or other corporate building.

I have been working at TTI Texas full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great collaboration from team members and team leads within BDG. Management is sure to reward great performances in terms of portfolio/ account growth. Very professional environment and approachable upper management

    Cons

Training is good but it doesn't really prepare you as much to be able to use their quotation system. Computers are old and are in need of upgrades

    Advice to Management

Keep working hard to find other ways to properly reward employees for their performance.

    Cons

I do not have any negatives about this company. Had an exceptional experience but was unable to be close to family

    Advice to Management

The culture you preach to future employees is very true and is a huge plus for those relocating to work for TTI Inc.

    Pros

You get to work for a company owned by Warren Buffet.
Salary was pretty decent starting off.
Training program is like a junior level college course.
Benefits and vacation time are insanely good.
    Managers were your best friends.

    Cons

In business development department, the sales quotas were pretty stressful and hard to meet.
Stuck to the desk all day.

    Advice to Management

Find the strengths and weaknesses of the new hires and manage them accordingly.

I worked at TTI Texas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have had the pleasure of working at TTI for the past two years in the eBusiness department. My experience has been very positive overall. Management and leadership are capable and supportive, coworkers are skilled and professional, and everyone seems to be relaxed, friendly, and ready to work.

    Cons

With any large, stable company, it can take time to change. While this is not necessarily a con, it is the nature of the size and age of the company - and it is getting noticeably better. In eBusiness, there is a growing ambition now to innovate, create change, and generally improve upon things.

    Advice to Management

I have no qualms whatsoever with the way TTI is being run, much less any complaints about how the department I was a part of was run. From my perspective, TTI has found some great advocates and leaders for their departments and teams, and I hope they can keep that up.

    Pros

create great friendships with people, opportunity to advance to a limit. pay is reasonable, and offer discounts on ranger tickets, boots, various things as a perk.

    Cons

gossip within the workplace, not a lot of great "management". supervisors don't talk to you unless they are told to or chewed out. can be stressful at times, and shift times aren't that great.

    Advice to Management

be more involved with your employees, it will get you further in your career. also, maybe make a few more leadership positions for certain areas. consolidation, shipping, picking. (not just supervisors, but area "leaders".

I have been working at TTI Texas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are extremely friendly and tend to be very qualified for their positions.

    Cons

The only cons would be the slightly old-hat upper/mid management styles, as well as slightly below-average benefits. However, I must say that I am a big fan of our CEO/Founder, and a few others in upper management that really know what they are doing.

    Advice to Management

Add rewards systems based on performance for folks in every department, even IT/IS. Raise benefits.

    Pros

TTI is the most stable of electronic component distributors. If you are looking for a good home, where you can have long term job security, this is a good place. And in today's climate, that's a big plus for most.

    Cons

Compensation plan for performers is lacking. Average performers paid the same as performers. I was able to almost double my salary in a career move.

    Advice to Management

Recognize the people truly driving revenue, reward them.
