I have been working at TUI Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of committed staff who go above and beyond
    Holiday concessions after qualifying period

    Cons

This is without a doubt the most hierarchical company I have ever worked for. Managers in my department seem to accentuate this much to the demoralisation of the majority. There is objective, charter and local strategy overkill which stifles creativity and ultimately just focuses managers on hitting targets and ticking boxes.
Management styles seems to be stuck in a previous decade, trust your people to perform, park egos and old style management techniques at the door.

    Advice to Management

Be serious about taming the hierarchy and you will instantly get a more engaged workforce. Internal communications should be sent out to everyone not just selected grades of employees.

    Pros

None - worst place to work

    Cons

Beware when you join this company. All the job specs state ' career progression prospects' but there are none. If you're ambitious and threaten management with your ambition, they plot to get rid of you. No diversity in management level. 90% foreign employees are the doers.

    Advice to Management

    Recognise work of the doers!!

    Pros

    Lots of meetings and holidays

    Cons

Software Development is completely outsourced to companies who don't care about quality.

The only people in the IT department are those so called scrum masters and a complex hierarchy of managers - who have never written a single line of code in their career, but ironically very competent with agile practices!

I still wonder how an IT department can function without any sound techies in the team? They do have a bunch of hybris architects who are busy creating PPTs on a windows pc

    Advice to Management

Hire real techies who can drive the product in the right direction.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

It looks nice and friendly at first glance but... it is just a facade, watch your back
Lot of nice words, values, objective but reality is another thing

    Cons

Lot of back stabbing, politics, promises promises promises
Huge turnover of developers, no rare cases of people leaving before 6 or even 2 months. Almost all developers are leaving, they have now to outsource almost everything as it is going worse and worse (look at the trend in Glassdoor)
Promotions go only to the friends in the "Magic Circle" , no career opportunity
    Micro management, some bossy individuals
Unfair place to work in, people are treated differently some can have breaks, leave early, come late, have deals, rewards others just have to shut up and work like mules

    Advice to Management

    The management IS the problem
CEO: Promote who DOES the work and not the army of micro managers that hides everywhere.
    Control your controllers.

I worked at TUI Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Working in a different country

    Cons

You are treated as just a number by this company. There is a lot of blatant favouritism where there is one rule for one and another rule for somebody else. When you are unwell/need medical treatment they don't not look after you properly or want to provide you with anytime off. If you want to feel valued as an employee I would not recommend this company for you. They are very badly organised and often forget to pick you up for work and you are at fault for there mistake.

    Advice to Management

Management need to start showing proffesionalism and start treating all members of staff equally. And start paying attention to the duty of care for there staff or else they should not be in that role
