I have been working at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK full-time

    Pros

Fast paced environment with opportunity for growth and career advancement. The ability to be trained well and to work in many areas such as Operations, Sales, and gaining management experience all at once.

    Cons

There is a "season" in this business and often times you spend the busy season working 40 plus hours a week with little down time or time away. You will also find yourself answering calls and emails frequently while being off the clock. For someone with a growing family I find it hard to draw a line between work and home which is often times disappointing. Even more disappointing is that those above you begin to expect that the more you do answer those calls and emails, which may start out on a simple as needed basis, it then becomes expected and then there truly is no life outside of the workplace as they expect the two to merge without any conflict.

    Advice to Management

Operate within your hours of service unless an emergency occurs and do not expect any of your employees to give up valuable time in their home life in order to sustain the business. I believe a company is failing when they cannot operate successfully within their hours of operation and require their staff to make such large sacrifices of time at home in order for the business to truly succeed. When this type of thing happens I believe employees get burnt out very quickly and it leads to a high turn over rate in all positions. I say that it is time to go back to the drawing board at this point.
