    Pros

Decent Pay Hybrid schedule Inbounds Amazing maternity and paternity leave

    Cons

Worst onboarding experience ever, no product or process training and you will be on customer calls week one Horrible culture, everyone is stressed and everyone is curt Terrible processes that are ridiculously long and full of red tape (Ex: two SOPS cases just to get a quote generated, sometimes taking up to a week) Remote/hybrid work — also listed as a pro however remote onboarding is horrible, and it contributes to the non existent culture. You will work on a team where everyone is in different states and you will constantly be collaborating with people who don’t know you, and who works in a siloed dept in another state Customer support — worst customer support processes ever, no training on how to handle certain issues and support emails will come to your inbox daily as a sales rep WAY too much tome doing non sales related activities No work life balance other than PTO and amazing maternity and paternity leave benefits. Other than that you will work 55+ hours a week constantly just stay caught up

    Pros

If you are looking for a slow and steady corprorate job - Salesforce/Tableau might be good for you.

    Cons

People say that the company has been on a steady downhill trajectory since the Salesforce acquisition, but the reality is that the decline has started long before that. In the early days (late 00's and early 10's) the company had a truly innovative product and an amazing team that revolutionized the BI market. Now it just follows the rest of the industry, building features that on paper address the latest Gartner's hype cycle but in reality dont do anything for customers. (other BI vendors are guilty of that too). After the acquisition many teams have been absorbed into the Salesforce mothership; there is basically no more Tableau.

    Pros

Great people to solve problems with. The opportunity for the business, customers, and employees now that we are part of Salesforce

    Cons

The company really struggles with implementing change, and we are going through a lot of it right now. I have lost track of how many re-orgs we've had this year

    RIP Tableau... Hello SF

    Pros

The product is awesome. It's easy to sell a genuinely awesome product you know can help people. The product is an industry leader and SF is even bigger so the names alone help the sale.

    Cons

SF killed the company I loved. Tableau wasn't perfect but it was pretty amazing all things considered. Big enough company to carry a global name, yet there was a lot of room for creative freedom regarding how you owned and operated your business and your time. SF completely murdered all sense of individuality and creativity. It's extremely corporate now. Red tape everywhere. Everything has a process... almost all preposterously long and convoluted. More mandatory trainings than I've ever seen... I have nothing against training if they are actually going to bring value. But they roll out mandatory trainings just to tick boxes. TOTAL LACK OF DIVERSITY. OMG, can we have more white men in leadership roles? Nope. Just an endless sea of mediocre white men who only want to lead for the titles with their bros.

    Dying by Degrees

Oct 2, 2022 - Senior Technical Support Engineer in Seattle, WA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Tableau used to offer excellent Support until the SF takeover. Training was excellent and knowledge resources were abundant. Great eclectic team to work with of the smartest people.

    Cons

Since the SF takeover support engineers have been asked to do more and more with less and less. Nobody can keep up with increased expectations, and pay has stagnated. Experienced techs are leaving and not being replaced, or being replaced in Hyderabad. Former paths for advancement seem to have been cut off.
