Pros
I've worked at Tableau now for 3.5 years and I love it. The people are really smart and collaborative and the environment is fast-paced and always changing.
Cons
Feels a little more corporate-y now that we are owned by Salesforce and I miss the start-up vibe. More levels of approval now.

Pros
Great benefits Tableau the product is great and easy to sell The people are awesome
Cons
Culture has crumbled in a remote world and with the Salesforce takeover. Feels like management is doing the bare minimum at all times for their team and only focused on improving their own career paths. No communication from leadership on the path to a promotion and lots of new rules because of Salesforce. Yet be prepared at the end of each year to be bounced to a new team or territory with zero say and then told you have to stay there for a minimum of 6 months. Sales enablement is a joke. Management spends zero time mentoring, training or even reviewing deals with their team. Pay is way below market. Nearly everyone is unhappy and looking to leave this sinking ship. Working with Salesforce Core AEs is a nightmare. Most are rude and condescending and actually are pushing Tableau OUT of deals but management is scared of SF leadership and so don't say anything.

Pros
Good work life balance at Tableau and Salesforce. Extremely friendly, good benefits, and good on resume. Work from anywhere is a plus
Cons
Legacy Salaries far below current market which is frustrating. Quotas are somewhat reasonable, but dependent upon the accounts you are assigned and can be volatile.

Pros
- Passionate, smart and very friendly people. - Inclusive : tableau public is free - Investment in (scientific/experimental) research - Client & Tableau-expert focused - Tableau Foundation: Social impact is more than just a grant. It is a chance for everyone to learn and share different ideas about creating real change in our world. That's why we bring all that we have to give--software, people, partners--to the table, and scale successful projects far and wide.
Cons
- Consensus seeking, risk averse culture - White-male dominant leadership. - Still leaning on it’s legacy from 2011: Tableau desktop
- Former Employee, more than 5 years★★★★★
Pros
- Management listens and works hard to improve - A culture of innovation: hackathons have always been encouraged, and are run pretty frequently. They have been the source of many of the best features in Tableau.
Cons
I really enjoyed working there, though left before the Salesforce acquisition, so I can't speak to what has changed since then.

Pros
Tableau is a company that embraces all employees.
Cons
There are not a lot of opportunities to move into different roles.

Pros
- Lots of flexibility; room to work on projects outside your immediate domain, with other teams in other locations - Great balance; employees know how to have fun but also how to buckle down and get work done - Growth opportunities; lots of potential for internal mobility among different roles - Responsiveness; management seemed very receptive to hearing employees concerns, and seemed to create a very friendly environment - Product; everyone at Tableau LOVES Tableau. Truly impressive how much employees adore the product and the mission
Cons
- Diversity; like all software companies, could do better fostering a more diverse workplace (though they certainly do better than most similar companies) - New Hire opportunities; not a ton of position options for new grads, which is kind of disappointing (though understandable)

Pros
Tableau is a good product. When I started, Stolte still ran the shop, and the mission was key. Learned a lot about human-centric design.
Cons
After Stolte departed, the company became much more like any other employer. From what I hear, the mission has been completely lost in the sale to Salesforce.

Pros
> Tableau allows you a very comfortable ramp plan into your new role. > Tableau provides a culture, unlike any other company I've worked for. > Departments are very collaborative and transparent with one another. > Variety of Food and Drinks provided to any employee. > Expensed meals are a common monthly basis for team building and morale boosting. > The benefits are top-notch. > Volunteer programs and days that allow you to give back to the community while getting paid.
Cons
> As Tableau grows, some of the culture & values have started to become a little more corporate-like.

Pros
Tableau is a software company with so much potential but not taking full advantage of it. Good place to introduce yourself to the tech/software world. Good work-life balance, monthly wellness perks, and flexibility of working remotely.
Cons
Inadequate compensation. Commission/Quotas are not paid out as scheduled. Renewal Management team in Austin is laughable. High-turnover rate.
