      Best job of my career

Oct 14, 2015 - Senior Software Engineer in New York, NY

      Pros

Commitment to IT craftsmanship in a wholistic sense, work-life balance, no politics amongst colleagues, no passengers on project teams, colleagues who are balanced in having great skills and personality (you want to have drinks with them), lots of client-facing opportunities if you are at an onshore office.

      Cons

Benefits aren't as great even though the salary is more than competitive. Currently we have more work than we can recruit good enough people for, and a lot of old-timers are leaving. There is still worry that Tacit will lose its culture of craftsmanship as it merges more closely with Newgistics.

Being the worst player in the band is a good thing

Aug 30, 2012 - Senior Consultant in Chisinau

      Pros

      - Great teams and awesome people - every single one of them! - No politics - Agile environment - A wealth of e-commerce projects - Recognition of own's talents, commitments and contributions to the company's success - Very high quality standards in software development ==> essentially a software craftsmanship approach

      Cons

Typically not much travel from delivery offices (Moldova, Mexico) to full-service offices (San Francisco, New York, London). It sometimes happens during the project start (a 2 weeks trip) however afterwards the remote delivery team just stays at home for the entire duration. Also it's almost impossible to get relocated from Moldovan office to a full-service one - at least there are no case studies yet (it's possible for Mexican office though to tell the truth).

An environment for personal growth while fully committed to deliver on high standard and contribute to company's success

Aug 11, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Chisinau

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Great peers and management - highly competent, professional and friendly - No politics - Many high-profile clients - Great tools and environment - Allows for good work-life balance - Decent pay

      Cons

It happens to work for difficult clients, which is OK. But it happens sales people to overpromise, then look for ways to deliver on that promise at the risk to compromise the quality, and implicitly the job satisfaction overall. This isn't a norm and shouldn't be. Hope we learn from that and keep our standards high as we always used to.
