I worked at Tacony full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people at Tacony are caring, hard-working and smart.

    Cons

The only downside I experienced was their attitude toward flexible work schedules.

I worked at Tacony full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The 401k plan is nice. The people are kind and treat you like family.

    Cons

I am writing this review because I heard that they have let go some of the best coworkers I ever had the pleasure of working alongside.

    Advice to Management

It will take a long time to earn back trust from the employees after the employees were let go.

    I worked at Tacony full-time

    Pros

Medium sized family owned corporation. Low turnover.

    Cons

Vacation accrual is not up to par with todays standards. New CEO updating everything from top to bottom. Now there is high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Implement priority changes 1st. A lot of changes all at once disrupts other changes and makes even the good ones seem not a great. System integration took 2.5 years with great patience by all before implementation. Unfortunately after the launch the same patience and loyalty was no longer of value.

    I worked at Tacony full-time

    Pros

People where really nice to work with overall in each department

    Cons

Terrible pay and benefits. You have to clock in and out when you have lunch or doctor appointment. It is the cheapest company I have ever seen. For the Christmas party everybody brings a dish in to celebrate instead of the company flipping the bill for Christmas. Also if you like to have vacation days this not the place that gives you acceptable vacation. The first two years you only get 7 days that is it. The worst I have ever seen for a company.

    Advice to Management

It is not a mans world! You should listen to the women managers.

    I worked at Tacony full-time

    Pros

95% small, warm, family-friendly atmosphere full of smart, genuine and caring employees. Many employees have been working there for 10+ years.

    Cons

Poor PTO and sick days. A handful of middle managers were unqualified to manage.

    Advice to Management

Encourage continuing education and provide more mentorship

I worked at Tacony full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There's an atmosphere of teamwork, and the managers are generally easygoing about how/when you complete your work. If you dislike long hours, take heart in knowing that OT is discouraged. Company paid retirement is a big plus.

    Cons

The vacation is abysmal in the first two years, and pay is below industry average. Expect to do the work of two or three people for that paycheck.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with industry trends: more PTO and higher salaries would be a great start.

I worked at Tacony (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Many fine benefits provided. Great co-workers . Stable and reliable place to work. Employee longevity is wanted and encouraged. Once you have a job you can stay in it.

    Cons

For the most part you are stuck in your first job with few chances for promotions.

I worked at Tacony (More than a year)

    Pros

A great family owned company that lets the management team run their prospective business's

    Cons

The floor care division (Fort Worth) is packed with cronyism-everyone is either related, or from the same church or both.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and smell the coffee, you have to separate family friends from business and run it objectively if your going to be a player in the future. Otherwise the future isn't going to be so bright that you need sunglasses.

I have been working at Tacony full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working with current technologies, able to wear many different hats.

    Cons

Salaries are lower than the STL market, vacation and holiday benefits are terrible for the first two years.

    Advice to Management

Keep up to date with the current median pay for programmers to keep solid help coming in.
