    Pros

Caring employer that truly cares for its people in terms of benefits and recognition. Great culture and philosophy.

    Cons

Employees are entitled and protected by the union even for wrong doings. Culture and philosophy

    Advice to Management

Shut down the hotel and restart with new employees. Get rid of such a bad Union that enables bad behavior and over compensates that way as they were found embezzling members' funds and are bad in managing their members

    Pros

Management team sets clear expectations, coaches, gives feedback and recognizes efforts also fearlessly open and truthful. A great place to work.

    Cons

Older build problems. union issues prevent stuff from getting done. small rooms. low value rooms. over prices meals. old heating and cooling system through building. In the 2 years i worked there i had all 5 co workers in my department quite and I saw 2 managers come and go. the turn over rate was incredible.

    Advice to Management

Renovations. Invest in building upgrades. make rooms larger and more luxurious to reflect inflated rates. Non union employees salaries should be comparable to other full service Boston hotels.

    Pros

I found the job through craigslist and loved the job from the moment i got hired to my last day. You are far more than a employee to management you are treated as respected equal and they will along side you during busy times.

    Cons

The union has a strong hold inside the hotel, if you get written up for something and you say something to your union rep odds are management will cave and you will get the write up taken away. I've seen many of people get their jobs back thanks to the union even if they did screw up legitimately and should have been permanently terminated.
May god help you if you make a mistake or handle something the wrong way and you are not union because they will have zero loyalty towards the employee and fire you.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting the union run the hotel wake up and realize that you can be the best hotel in the city but until you get from under the unions dirty hands you will have sub-par luxury hotel.

    Pros

The leadership in this company is great. They have a clear vision of what they want, and they have a plan for the future.

    Cons

Some of the challenges with working for this company is that they do not have the most up to date technology. This inhibits the ability of some of those that need higher technology.

    Advice to Management

The management needs to understand they have to put money in, in order to see a higher return.
