I worked at Takasago International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pros are minimal but line staff worked with welcomed me as a team member.

    Cons

Nepotism, harassment of all kinds, sexism, and cover up runs high within the company. Personally was harassed, reported to management, and was the one that was retaliated against. Lack of procedures and policies which leads to chaos within the site, management is well aware of the issues. Management stays MIA, non responsive, tight with money, and places blame on staff along with telling them to fix. Management advises...

    Advice to Management

A particular senior manager brags openly about how they purposefully make interviews difficult, uncomfortable, and be out right mean to possible new employees in their department. As a company trying to change the toxic culture not sure this is how the company wants to represents themselves within the industry. Hope company is able to change culture as it could be a great place to work for but there will be difficult...

I worked at Takasago International full-time

    Pros

If you take initiative you can move up, a little. Low PTO balances out with holidays and summer hours Very laid back and friendly environment, though can be high schoolish like anywhere else. Very safety minded Growth is encouraged

    Cons

Very HR driven Management is often disconnected from the workers Like anywhere else there are toxic employees that are untouchable & infallible

    Advice to Management

Incentivize your employees with a career path not just job growth.

Very nice people at the non-management levels. hard working people

    I worked at Takasago International

    Pros

Lower level and hourly Employees are friendly and dedicated and that is the only thing holding the company together. No other pros.

    Cons

Horrible PTO rules and regulations, very confusing and unfair. No you do not get 4 weeks vacation after 5 years. You get it the year of your 7th year. Poor Management, no desire to change or improve. High turnover No training No upward mobility

    Advice to Management

Start from the top down to commit to a set of goals and provide employees the training and resources to meet those goals. Measure performance based on those goals. Get and use data. Ensure all departments are working towards the same goals. When a problem occurs get to the root of problem rather than placing blame. Empower employees. Reduce the fear employees have if “getting in trouble”. Commit to treat employees...

I worked at Takasago International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

All cons come out quick. You meet different people. They won’t waste your time just fire you same day. They suck

    Cons

Benefits low quality. HR covers up any concerns you have regarding pay. Management pushes workers with out double checking work. Won’t take responsibility for actions just fire you. A lot of cover up, by all departments. Depending on department but real awkward work place. Workers argue behind each other’s backs. Equipment outdated and done in house by un professional personnel. Worst company I’ve worked...

Former Employee - Material Handler in Harriman, NY

I worked at Takasago International full-time

    Pros

    - Laid back work-environment - friendly co-workers once they get to know you - decent hours/summer hours - Rarely working hard.

    Cons

    - Management can be a bit biased towards employees. - Unfair treatment; some people immediately get reprimanded while others do not for the same violation depending on who you are to them. - minor prejudices from upper management. - not the best insurance packages. - People tend to throw you under the bus a lot to cover themselves or just to be a tattle-tell.

    Advice to Management

Treat people equally, it's not fair that one person will get fired and another person will get a slap on the wrist for the same violation. Treat people like human-being instead of just someone who's replaceable.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

CO-Workers are great and work for nothing

    Cons

The following is in regards to how I and other employees at Takasago Harriman feel as far as the treatment of employees within the company. I have noticed that certain employees within the company have been receiving favoritism from the supervisors or those in power within the company; meanwhile there are employees and former employees that were reprimanded and even terminated for violating the company polices or having...
