I worked at Talbots part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great manager and entire team. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming. I got the job being underqualified, I was 16 with no high school diploma yet and they still let me have the job!

    Cons

After one year of working there I only received a 25 cent raise. They make you wear uncomfortable shoes, which I got knee and back problems from.

    Advice to Management

Allow associates to wear canvas shoes on the floor. One of my co-workers had to leave because she was getting knee surgery.

    Pros

Talbot's loves their interns! HR does an amazing job at keeping the program fun and informative for the intern group. Not only do you get paired with a Manager and a Buddy within your individual department, but you also get to see how all of the other departments within a retail business function through Intern events with executives. From presentations to meetings to cookouts to bonding with your Intern class, the Talbots Intern program has it all. This was a summer I will never forget!

    Cons

I cant think of any cons!

    Advice to Management

Keep putting in all the hard work and effort you put in this to the Intern Program year in the future! It does not go unnoticed.

I have been working at Talbots full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Love the alignment that clearly exists among and across the executive leadership team all working towards a collaborative customer strategy. There is a "buzz" of excitement across the organization as we navigate through a cultural change that is completely focused on the customer's agenda while being aware of how the employees are or will be aligned to the customer focused objectives.

    Cons

With change and a test and learn approach, some can feel under appreciated, misunderstood or left behind. Extra communication and thoughtful interactions by the leadership team are important to execute well to offset the effects of significant change and to ensure everyone is "on board" from a vision perspective.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be transparent with the rest of the organization at all levels so everyone understands the progress being made and the direction in which we are moving. Performance and business updates are important as well as continuing to celebrate key milestones and achievements both individual and team.
