I have been working at Talking Rain Beverage Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Sparkling Ice is a rock star product that has so much potential for continued growth...if company leaders knew how to think strategically and execute a focused plan.

    Cons

There are 2 huge problems that make working here horrible: (1) the LACK OF FOCUS & PRIORITIZATION - trying to do everything & kitchen sink without budget to support it means nothing gets done well and employees burn out, (2) COMPANY CULTURE - they say the fish rots from the head. Although KKlock is no longer with the company, he created a culture that still stinks to this day. Men here are boisterous, loud and just... plain disrespectful to female employees. Yelling and constantly talking over other people is not ok, but leaders here see it, do it and never think twice about it. HR is corrupt, overlooks bad behavior of managers and don’t follow the rules themselves. For example, an employee was hurt on the job due to faulty equipment and ended up getting paid workers comp which HR fought against having to pay and then tried to fire the employee to get rid of them! Fortunately, the hurt employee’s Manager was ethical and stood up against the pressures from HR. The Company puts on the face of caring for employees, but it just isn’t so. Think very carefully before deciding to work here.

    Advice to Management

Sell to a reputable company that knows how to run a CPG/beverage business.

I worked at Talking Rain Beverage Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

All the Sparkling ICE you can drink, a good expense reporting system

    Cons

Very low pay, especially for field employees, which is the larger part of the organization. The people at HQ seem to enjoy way more perks, as evidenced from other reviews. Terrible HR department, the worst I have seen. Micromanaging managers who never let you make a decision, others in the top heavy management are making this even more Red Bullish (minus the pay) than ever before. Ageism is rampant.

    Advice to Management

get your HR in check. Their inability to even do the smallest things from recruitment to on boarding is mind boggling, despite many being in the position for years, YEARS! Managers need to be put in check, the micro managing grows old and tiresome. who wants to work in that environment?

I worked at Talking Rain Beverage Company

    Pros

    - There are good employees who are genuinely trying their hardest to make everything work - Lots of free lunches, gift cards, carnivals, etc. Talking Rain makes it a priority to have events for their employees to try to make up for the below market compensation package that they offer. - Free Sparkling Ice if you enjoy drinking diet soda.

    Cons

    - Biggest downside is low pay. They pay well below market on most, if not all of their positions. This leads to the company looking for a lot of younger employees who are happy just to have a job. - High turnover. They have had plenty of issues retaining employees due to their low pay and poor management structure. - Poor organization can often times lead to longer hours worked and discontent amongst... employees. - Aggressive tactics from upper management lead to people looking over their shoulders. - It can be very difficult to get a grasp on the direction of the company and what your purpose is for showing up for work other than to collect a paycheck.

    Advice to Management

Unless you want your company to continue to be a stepping stone, increase your pay and compensation package to make it for enticing for people to stay there rather than look for better opportunities.

I have been working at Talking Rain Beverage Company

    Pros

With a business growing as fast as Ice you'd think employees would have it good here, but it's not true. Management and HR overwork and underpay employees. The best things about working here: -All the Sparkling Ice you can drink -Nice coworkers -Mandatory walkathons as part of your KOEs (annual performance plan)

    Cons

Horrible commute/Very Long drive from city Low salary for CPG company Domineering owner - scares employees Bad Managers Lack of focus No advancement opportunities given to those working hard everyday

    Advice to Management

Management training for good employees; Fire bad managers; You can't expect good talent to work in the boondocks and be underpaid; Pay more to get better leaders that know what they're doing

I worked at Talking Rain Beverage Company part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Plenty of Sparkling Ice or water to drink during long days. If you like carbonated beverages you'll love that - Management will motivate you to work hard. - Nobody there takes their job lightly so you don't find many "slackers". - As long as you work hard your supervisors will trust you which makes the environment much easier.

    Cons

    - Long days in summer heat can drain your energy. - Not much positive reinforcement. Only an issue if you need constant praise. - Hectic driving schedules can be stressful.

    Advice to Management

Give employees 10 minute breaks every few hours since that is technically state law. It would tremendously improve moral during those long weekends.

    Pros

snacks, as much sparkling ice as you can drink, fitness classes, 3 weeks PTO, nice coworkers

    Cons

small company, so depending on your role, less room for promotion/ career advancement and more likely to make a lateral internal move

    Advice to Management

celebrating strawberry shortcake day doesn't make up for the noncompetitive salaries
