      Pros

      Talkspace prioritizes work-life balance. Everyone says it, but it exists here. We work hard because mental health support is one of the most sought after benefits right now.. however Senior Leadership supports whatever you need in order to take care of yourself and your family. It's almost frowned upon if you don't take some vacation and time off for yourself. I've never experienced such an amazing culture like this. I feel blessed to be here.

      Pros

      I have only recently joined the team, and so this is a review based primarily on early impressions, but so far I have to say I am thoroughly impressed by the culture, the organizational efficiency, strong leadership, and frankly, an overwhelming abundance of kindness and positivity from everyone I've met so far. The company is growing extremely rapidly, making it an exciting place to work. The company is working hard to continually serve their therapists as well as their end-users; many of the other product and sales staff are themselves practicing therapists, and possess an in-depth knowledge of their trade. The product is actually incredible, and after trying it myself (all employees receive a free subscription), I'm totally bought in to the benefits of online therapy, and believe the platform represents the future of mental healthcare.

      Cons

      I admit that I was initially concerned by some of the other low reviews, but upon closer examination, many (most?) of those appear to be written by part-time therapists, many of whom have a very short interaction with the platform, rather than full-time employees. Talkspace has been growing extremely rapidly, and any startup undergoing such rapid growth that is also managing a vast network of 1099 contractors (their therapists) is inevitably going to solicit some unfortunate reviews. Overall, while the company has had its share of growing pains, I'm very impressed so far, and excited to be part of such a dynamic team working toward a mission that is deeply important to so many.

      Cheerleaders that promote ‘support’, flexible hours. Utilizing provider feedback. Excellent benefits. Promise of good company once established.

      Cons

      Saying not doing. There’s a lot of talk, that’s for sure. Hiring agreements not upheld. Unrealistic hourly expectations for FT. Lack of actual platform help-only available via email. Performance micros/macros The company is expanding at such an explosive pace it cannot keep up with customer need. It’s ever-evolving platform went from zero support to surface support that presents as inclusive/progressive when really just frantic and unprofessional. Left your own devices/“you should already know” mentality. High turnover rate. No work-life balance despite promises. Fearful of retaliation.

      Pros

      The people genuinely care about the company’s mission.

      Cons

      Although the mission is great, this company requires an overhaul. HR has a “do it yourself attitude” a department that has grown exponentially within the last year. This company lacks diversity in senior positions and managerial positions. White counter-parts are promoted without merit and out of fear. The company continues to bleed talent due to lack of culture, professional development, empathy, and more importantly an even playing field for everyone. There is no genuine interest in fixing the issues, however expectation to execute is top priority. It’s an environment that causes significant burn out. See previous reviews and do research before joining. People of color be cautious as they just want to check off a box and have nothing to offer to help grow your career.

      Pros

      Talkspace offers full medical and dental insurance. The ability to work remotely is a huge plus and you can work with clients in multiple states in which you are licensed.

      Cons

      A massive client caseload of 80+ makes it difficult to manage especially among different subscription plans. Talkspace's expectations for therapists to respond to clients 2-3x a day made sense when they only hired 1099's. Since incorporating salaried full-time clinicians, those same expectations are unrealistic given the large caseload and still expected to provide therapy video sessions throughout the day. Talkspace is continuously updating and making changes to the platform which is disruptive.
