RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Talkspace full-time for less than a year
Pros
Very positive and welcoming culture. Everyone I've met is here for the right reasons. HR does a great job of engaging the entire employee population, despite having a remote workforce. Encouraged to think outside the box and share ideas. Leadership is accessible and open. Talkspace is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce. Absolutely love working here.
Cons
Not being able to meet your team in person (yet) has been different.. but that is everywhere right now.

RecommendsPositive OutlookNo opinion of CEOI have been working at Talkspace part-time for less than a year
Pros
Flexible, user friendly, video sessions are often clear and without tech issues, easy to take time off or request a hold on referrals
Cons
Punitive measures for missing response times, no live support, some clients are far too ill for online therapy, clients have very high expectations for quick/immediate results with minimal time for rapport building I overall appreciate the opportunity I’ve found with Talkspace and the extra income it provides. I certainly make more in private practice but this has been a great way to supplement that and broaden my client base. That said, I do find it concerning that client’s can remain all but anonymous if they never book a video session. I’ve had clients barely fill out demographics and never schedule a video session, despite my encouragement to do so. Ironically, those same clients tend to be the first ones to demand quick results or write a lukewarm review regarding your clinical skills. I recently had a young client with severe mental illness, active eating disorder behavior and suicidal ideation doing text only therapy and expecting intensive outpatient level results. There are significant ethical issues that arise in certain cases and I felt very uncomfortable in this situation. I’m the type of therapist that believes trust and rapport are the foundation of a good therapeutic relationship; I imagine most of us feel this way. I’ve developed this with many clients on this platform but I’ve found it difficult to achieve with others in this format.

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Talkspace part-time for more than 3 years
Pros
flexibility, the community used to be very engaged until they took away the ability to talk to other therapists and have direct communication with HQ
Cons
where do I begin? most importantly - there are MANY ways that Talkspace can screw therapists out of getting their pay. If you're not careful, overly conscientious, you may be doing pro-bono work even if you're meeting all of their reply-by demands EXTREMELY low pay No benefits or recognition for staying long-term Feels like the Walmart of Therapy - convenient and cheap

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Talkspace full-time for more than a year
Pros
Free lunch and flexible vacation days
Cons
This company has A LOT of work to do in the diversity department. There are no people of color in management roles and they consistently promote white employees over employees of color with seniority. They dance around the topic of diversity and use social movements or trending topics to make it seem as though they are so progressive. A boring office with a cliquey atmosphere. Oh and the pay is awful for the work they expect of you.

Pros
Only upside is the CEO. He is kind and honest. His direct reports are some of the worse people I have worked with.
Cons
Every single review here is true. There are serious organizational problems there. Stay away.
