I worked at Tampa Family Health Centers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

To be honest... None. Except getting healthcare experience that you can use to take somewhere else, somewhere better. Benefits were okay but not great.

    Cons

They fire people faster than they can hire people. Beware of your co-workers. Everyone snitches on each other, instead of working as a team to help and improve. Your co-workers will try and get you fired. When I first started, I kept hearing horrible things about the company and to watch your own back and be careful about what you say around people. Clinics are always under staff and they pay very low with a lot of work.

    Advice to Management

Corporate is way too strict and needs to give employees chances rather than taking what other people say about other employees. Poor management, needs a lot of work. People get scared for their jobs everyday and who wants to work for a company like that. They just hire anyone and then fire them for the first thing they see wrong.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing to say

I have been working at Tampa Family Health Centers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is competitive for a non-profit company. The organization's intention to provide quality health care to people in need is admirable.

    Cons

While the intentions are good, those in charge have a tendency to not follow through on their initiatives. Obstacles or the assignment of responsibility to ensure a directive is being followed through regularly forces Management to let the project fall apart. There is also the issue of those in administration who tend to favor people they like instead of those who do their job right.

    Advice to Management

Remain objective and stay the course. Follow through with the goals even if it means punishing people who don't deliver. Be willing to expect great work from people and reward the ones who achieve. Don't be so short sighted and get distracted by a quick accomplishment. A company of 500 people should be successful in this area and industry. Provide assistance for all employees who wish to further their education.

I worked at Tampa Family Health Centers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It was a set Monday-Friday and weekends off ( in most cases)

    Cons

Poor management. Lack of professionalism. No worth ethic, The managers can barely write let alone speak proper. Horrible pay.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like you value them. if you paid them better your turn over rate would not be as high as it is.

I worked at Tampa Family Health Centers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great practitioners and staff, always providing the best possible patient care.

    Cons

A CEO that provides for a poor work environment for all staff. Over 100 staff members fired in a matter of a couple of years, often at the request of the CEO for things like the fact he didn't like the way they looked. Sad place to work. Doing a good job doesn't count at Tampa Family Health Center.

    Advice to Management

The Board of Directors needs to find another CEO.

I worked at Tampa Family Health Centers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Patients, co-workers, continuity of care, possible loan repayment, minimal call, minimal weekends.

    Cons

Administration is: Unorganized. Unprofessional. Inconsistent. Lacks communication. Do not answer e-mails. No transparency. Do not appreciate providers. Only focus on bottom line. Rules/Policies are inconsistently applied to select people. Focus on micromanagement in select areas that do not contribute to the success of the company. No work life balance. Will need to work from home. Not supportive of employees. Felt like I was back in high school at times with the gossip and problems. Stressful only because of senior administration including CEO, CMO, CNO/COO

    Advice to Management

Restructure/re-hire from the very top. Focus on Retention and employee satisfaction instead of opening more clinics when you can't even keep the ones you have staffed. Practice compassion, empathy, and integrity. Hold senior level executives to a higher professional standard. Be consistent in applying disciplinary actions and such to all staff it is only fair and professional. Maintain policies updated. Find competent and consistent Human Resource Personnel. Improve communication and transparency...when there is nothing unethical or illegal taking place there should be no reason to keep staff in the dark. Work to increase trust between staff and management. Improve sense of camaraderie.

    Pros

None whatsoever. On the contrary, it was a real nightmare working for this company.

    Cons

Poor management, favoritism at workplace, bad customer service. A TOTAL DISASTER. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites and create a whole new structure from top to bottom. Treat staff better and pay them at least a dollar more you miserable rats.
