I worked at Tampa Family Health Centers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only "pro" were my co-workers.

    Cons

This was by far one of the worst companies I have worked for. The environment was absolutely hostile ... the way they terminate employees because HR or (current) COO does not like them, and lying to their board members about what is happening. They even lie on all reports to pay providers less on bonuses. If you bring up the fact that reports are incorrect in an email with a provider included, you are told to stop talking to the provider about the information. The COO Sherry has had so many EEOC complaints filed against her about the hostile environment she has created. They also have a few current lawsuits on their hands for the mistreatment of employees. There are many concerns that have been brought up to the Chief staff which they continue to ignore, causing for one of the biggest turnover rates I've ever witnessed.

    Advice to Management

Removing the COO Sherry, along with the CEO Charles Bottoms, and listening to all employee concerns seriously will make for a much better environment.

I worked at Tampa Family Health Centers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some co-workers who try to do the right thing and have patient care concerns.

    Cons

Hostile work environment with worse-than-poor executive group; can NOT call them "leaders" as they dictate, threaten and power-play employees at all levels.

    Advice to Management

Resign before an employee or former employee chooses to return the disrespect you give everyone by contacting regulators or the media to embarrass you.

I have been working at Tampa Family Health Centers full-time

    Pros

No positive aspects of working at Tampa Family

    Cons

Poor management, short staffed making one employee do the job of 5 employees. They promise 15 min breaks but most clinics are so understaffed you cannot take your break. One center didn't have toilet paper and management in administration made us go out and buy toilet paper even though we make next to nothing and they are collecting millions of dollars and paying executive staff huge bonuses.

Management does nothing to help you and the managers cannot make any desicions or provide anything for staff without it being approved by the COO who does nothing in the interest of improving the clinics and making the staff comfortable. She is absolutely loathful.

    Advice to Management

The coo needs to be removed.

I worked at Tampa Family Health Centers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Patients, co-workers, continuity of care, possible loan repayment, minimal call, minimal weekends.

    Cons

Administration is: Unorganized. Unprofessional. Inconsistent. Lacks communication. Do not answer e-mails. No transparency. Do not appreciate providers. Only focus on bottom line. Rules/Policies are inconsistently applied to select people. Focus on micromanagement in select areas that do not contribute to the success of the company. No work life balance. Will need to work from home. Not supportive of employees. Felt like I was back in high school at times with the gossip and problems. Stressful only because of senior administration including CEO, CMO, CNO/COO

    Advice to Management

Restructure/re-hire from the very top. Focus on Retention and employee satisfaction instead of opening more clinics when you can't even keep the ones you have staffed. Practice compassion, empathy, and integrity. Hold senior level executives to a higher professional standard. Be consistent in applying disciplinary actions and such to all staff it is only fair and professional. Maintain policies updated. Find competent and consistent Human Resource Personnel. Improve communication and transparency...when there is nothing unethical or illegal taking place there should be no reason to keep staff in the dark. Work to increase trust between staff and management. Improve sense of camaraderie.

    Pros

None whatsoever. On the contrary, it was a real nightmare working for this company.

    Cons

Poor management, favoritism at workplace, bad customer service. A TOTAL DISASTER. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY.

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites and create a whole new structure from top to bottom. Treat staff better and pay them at least a dollar more you miserable rats.
