I worked at Tandem Diabetes full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The culture is by far the best compared to other companies. You are appreciated for your hard work and everyone has your back when you need it.

    Cons

There are many peaks and valleys so you have to be able to roll with things. Not necessarily a con, but a reality.

    Advice to Management

Keep your people happy and it will trickle down to the customers. Basically keep doing what you are doing.

I worked at Tandem Diabetes full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

The benefits are great. Many plan options, really low copay's, great networks, etc. Corporate work environment so you can rest assured you will just specifically be doing your job and not 5 other jobs at the same time. There are some good leaders there that will help you learn and grow. The company seems to be growing rapidly so that should spell more opportunities in an ideal world. Great and competent senior leadership....

      Cons

Okay here we go. First, these are coming from a positive but honest place. I have no animosity toward Tandem at all. For one, the environment is VERY political! Meaning: you have to know the right people in the company, be friendly with the right people in the company, not rub certain people in the company the wrong way, and hang out with the right people in the company, AND be great at your job to get ahead in this...

      Advice to Management

Take these criticisms and this review seriously. Overall its a pretty good company and work environment. However, some of these things can cause a breaking point in people such as myself.

I have been working at Tandem Diabetes full-time

      Pros

They have a shift for all sleep schedules. There is free coffee flowing plentiful. You have more or less autonomy as far as when you call patients.

      Cons

Mondays and Fridays are beyond understaffed. The management doesn't appear to be aware of the actual level of work we have on these days. Not great if you enjoy privacy.

I have been working at Tandem Diabetes full-time for less than a year

      Pros

-Relaxed environment -Innovative products -Nice break room

      Cons

-Temps are used to do "backfill" work with no intention of hiring them full time. -Leadership lie as to why temps leave. How does every one who is let go happen to "forge their time card"? -Toxic gossip -No room for growth -Management plays favorites. Employee output and work ethic mean nothing since management only gives additional responsibilities to their confidants. -Little to no training. Training...

      Advice to Management

Stop focusing on how to make the company look cool, and start focusing on the foundations on what makes a company truly successful. Hire leaders that will listen, help, and better their employees. Not leaders who only listen to those who create a culture of "us" and "them".

I worked at Tandem Diabetes full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

When I worked there it was a fun place. Good Christmas parties, celebration of milestones, friendly people.

      Cons

This company never should have gotten funded. The business plan was flawed. It is a small market with a huge capital investment, and the product was not designed to bring in good margins. As a result this company will never make money. It is astounding that it even IPOd at all. The share price after IPO says it all. Also there was a culture of keeping mediocre people that were buddy buddy with management and letting...
