    Pros

This Company was a very good Company to work for; the staff and senior management allowed works to make timely decisions to help improve the product and support that was given to the customer (US Army, Army Reserve and National Guard. The amount of work we had was not overwhelming, and the management understood the issues that we discovered and found a remedy within the organization, based upon the knowledge of the workers within the Company; this Company is one Company I work gladly work for again if they decide to come to Central Texas again.

    Cons

I really can't think of anything to say that would be considered a "con" for this Company. I really did enjoy my time with Tapestry Solutions.

    Advice to Management

Please find more work in Central Texas.

    Advice to Management

Wake up. Your employees are people - not objects.

I have been working at Tapestry Solutions part-time

    Pros

As a part-time software developer, I actually learned a lot about workplace necessities, collaborating with testers & other teams, version control (including its issues and how to fix them), Agile development methodologies, debugging strategies, and back-end web application structure, with a little front-end exposure as well.

Dealing with a large codebase was a good experience.

My mentor was incredibly helpful and understanding, which made me want to genuinely work hard and complete tasks & projects. That's in my particular case though, as mentors obviously vary.

Also, it may vary from team to team but overall everyone was very flexible with scheduling work hours, which let me schedule work around my busy class schedules.

Also, some amenities include daily coffee, an affordable snackbar, a small weight room, and a recreational room (with ping pong, foosball, board games, and game consoles) to help you through the work day!

    Cons

The technologies used within the company could use some updating. On my internet-connected work computer, I still have to deal with memory leaks and struggling processes that used to be a remnant of the past (the offline development computers are speedy and great to use though). This is a huge pain when I'm trying to research things/issues online.

    Advice to Management

Responses to employee feedback has seemed to improve, so just keep at it.

I worked at Tapestry Solutions part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked part-time as a student at a nearby univerisity. I was doing bug-fixing and general maintenance. The flexible hours are great. The time-off policies are pretty great for a student, you are basically allowed to always take off work for school breaks and such.

    Cons

The office culture among my team seemed to be pretty nonexistent. People were nice, but there was nothing standout. Everyone pretty much just coding quietly the whole day, with little interaction. I am a person who thrives on interacting with people, and need a more lively environment to feel fulfilled at work. Also, the pay is pretty abysmal.

    Advice to Management

Better pay would pretty much be the best way to make the work environment feel more desirable to be in. It is hard to be motivated to come in for so little pay sometimes, when you are using time that is worth more than you are being paid for it.

    Cons

Work can get kind of slow.
