I have been working at Targa full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    analyst program and decent pay.

    Cons

No 9/80 or flex time. Managers of certain groups will micromanage you right out of there!

    Advice to Management

Let your employees do their job and rely on positive reinforcement rather than constant negativity and scare tactics.

    Pros

2 weeks vacation, 6 days of sick time, super laid back environment, flexible schedule, can do your homework at work

    Cons

boring... do the same thing every day, no room for upward mobility even though it was mentioned I totally would be in the interview

    Advice to Management

try to actually manage... haha. really no management being done :( i honestly don't know how some of my co-workers still have their job with the way they act.

I have been working at Targa full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Downtown location, nice salary though non-competitive, and the work is manageable. The day-to-day workers are nice.

    Cons

Management is unprofessional, distasteful, and micro manages. The processes are outdated as well as the systems and business practices. Company does not understand compliance on all levels and the atmosphere is abrasive, uncomfortable, and stressful. Would not recommend.

    Advice to Management

Hire talent and allow the talent to flourish through experience and added knowledge. Respect employees and understand the industry/market better which would allow more stable communication and progress.

I worked at Targa full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Middle management personnel were very insightful and would often go the extra mile to help.
Strong group of young analysts who challenge each other and existing, antiquated processes
    Office environment fairly laid back

    Cons

Analyst Program not really what I was lead to believe it would be
Very few actual mentors that can bridge the gap from analysts to managers
Few meaningful opportunities exist that offer cross functional training opportunities

    Advice to Management

Define what the Analyst Program is really designed to accomplish. Don't mislead potential recruits by spinning it as something that it isn't.

I worked at Targa as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You will learn a lot as this is a very lean company as far as staffing goes intentionally. It allows for people to get a lot of exposure to different areas very early.

    Cons

Some of the managers are not in tune with the younger employees they are bringing in. Some managers are certainly better than others for certain, but there are managers who treat younger employees as worker bees to give them information so that they can take all the credit for it and not give credit to those responsible for finding and compiling it.

    Advice to Management

Start moving out your older managers. They discourage younger people from coming and staying as they are highly resistant to changes that could be positive if they could require them to change the way they do things. Don't let managers be inefficient because its comfortable.

    Cons

The new analyst development program needs to be more organized. Inter-department should have more communication.

    Pros

Small company so plenty of opportunites to learn.

    Cons

People hoard knowledge and work. Culture is under developed and carries a lot of bitternes from their dynegy days.

    Advice to Management

Focus on teambuilding and less on finger pointing. Help people work together instead of against each other.
