I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

will give you hours, definitely. You can get in the zone when you're in your zone. Often reached my daily 10,000 steps. Pays over minimum wage.

    Cons

they put you on the schedule for every available minute. They expect way too much out of their employees for the amount that we get paid. No guaranteed time off, even if you requested in advance. Will always schedule you out of your availability.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Is a job & close to my home. Easy to apply for and interview process is not difficult.

    Cons

Management is only interested in hiring "BODIES," does not listen to suggestions, runs store like a bunch of "SORORITY SISTERS" and consistently "DOGS" Associates. Target consistently looks for ways to get out of providing Company paid life insurance, vacation pay, and even Supplemental group life insurance, and does not treat all employees consistently. Upper Management only interested in Trans Gender Bathrooms & giving $4M in contributions to schools/communities per week and less interested in taking care of all employees regardless of how many hours worked. Treat all employees equally vs worrying about being politically correct. This is a Target Store/Company that needs to have their employees represented by a UNION!

    Advice to Management

Hire capable, experienced management that has people and management skills, and is consistent with all employees, looks at the big/total picture, and not just to "DOG" associates and play "LET ME FLEX MY MUSCLE".

    Pros

Discount on everything in the store. Workers are awesome. Many opportunities to get cross trained in different a work centers.

    Cons

The raises are terrible. Generally people starting out will end up making the same amount or more then someone who has worked there 5 years or more. No set schedule or hours.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Management is good. Could move up if you put your mind to it.

    Cons

Hard getting time off at times.

    Advice to Management

It comes a time when people have family obligations that trump working a few hours a night. Although it may be a night of short staff, it is better for your employee to work with them if it's not a regular occurance.

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

Not a hard job, fast-paced environment. People who work there really care about their job and making sure the customers are satisfied.

    Cons

Management was way too uptight. Ran the store like a prison rather than friendly workplace. Placed way too much effort on Red Card sales in a low-income area. Employees aren't rated on actual performance, but how their performance looks after all these weird criteria are put into algorithms.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on how your managers treat their employees and not on how they rate in your algorithms.
