I have been working at Target full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is so good, lots of over time opportunities during fall/Christmas season.

    Cons

Trying to do an internal job change is hard. You'll watch new hires off the street get hired into the position you've been bidding on for a year!

    Advice to Management

Wish they understood the reality of the job more, and were more interactive with the team members.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Nice discount
    Decent pay
    Fun work environment
Lots of opportunities to move up/around the company.
    401k matching
    Super flexible
    Very supportive management team

    Cons

Scheduling can be frustrating, but they are generally willing to work with you on the schedule! If your team isn't happy it can make for a challenging work environment... other team members always seemed to have a lot to complain about, but I really like working there and feel that as long as you stay positive and work hard management appreciates it and the work goes fairly easy.

    Advice to Management

Continue to do a great job being flexible with scheduling and so supportive of your team members, especially those with mental health issues.

    I worked at Target part-time

    Pros

Management goes out of their way to not pressure employees. This makes for a much better employee experience than at other chain stores where employees are constantly reminded to sell credit and warranty plans or are pressured to take additional shifts. Management tries to maintain a high level of team spirit in the store. Flexible scheduling.

    Cons

A lot of in store safety procedures may seem like common sense, but they still need to be gone over thoroughly before employees encounter safety concerns. Slow to respond to changes in employee availability.

    Advice to Management

Please get it together and more organized and not to be so mean to employees and slave drive them.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pretty flexible with hours, decent benefits, free shirts, nice name tag, there is room for advancement, management is willing to listen to ideas.

    Cons

Working every weekend, work all holidays, not good pay, not good annual raises, sometimes management will not listen to suggestions.

    Pros

Hours are fairly flexible. Store is generally a clean work environment.

    Cons

If you aren't proactive in seeking hours, you may slip through the cracks and be missed in receiving work hours.

I have been working at Target (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Target is retailer that values it's culture for both guest and team. Being inclusive to all is a core value upheld by leadership throughout the organization.

    Cons

It's retail, and even though I see Target as retail at its finest, it can be grueling. In executive management there are still weekend rotations and working on some, or most, holidays when the store is open.

    Advice to Management

Target is continually evolving to match the ever changing retail landscape. As it changes, we change. We may try something new and realize it isn't quite right, and perhaps there's another way. Failing fast and going back to the drawing board are encouraged by the company, which is great. We are always learning from experiences.
