I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay was good. My team members were awesome. Most low level employees were great people.

    Cons

Didn't follow corporate policy. Unrealistic expectations. Ridiculous turnover.

    Advice to Management

Follow actual policy. Corporate needs to give more man hours to allow employees to get things done right.

I worked at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Hours (sometimes)
    Enjoyed it honestly
    Pay
    Atmosphere
Some of the management other couldn't careless about you being there or not.

    Cons

    Management sucks. They lie constantly
    Hours or lack there of
    Lack of advancement
Now the fact that in Maryland I know the new people are coming in making as much as the people who have been there for 4+ years. How's that fair?

    Advice to Management

You need to help your HR department understand how to deal with people of better yet their employees.

    Pros

Can fool around sometimes, great to help nice guests, have a lot of different options for working inside the company, good starting salary for high school students.

    Cons

Bad guests=bad day, not the bet raise, poor team leads, a lot of the team leads in store 2271 (Annapolis, MD) should be punished for some things that the team members do but the guests don't.

    Advice to Management

Look into team leads in the store for breaking Target law and for putting Employees down. Mainly the STL he is a very poor leader and thinks that everything should be done his way and not the way the guests would like to see.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Target will train you wherever you like to work. Steady pay

    Cons

It is hard to move up in position, High level managers pile all of their work onto you and you are stuck with the consequences

    Advice to Management

Give the little guys a break and have a little wiggle room for promotion and salary increases.

    Pros

Leadership development, and pay. Great place to be recongized and develop your problem solving skills. Big best practice company with lots of traning and performance feedback.

    Cons

Retail life is tough. You work very hard and Target always will continue to squeak more profit out of everything. Hours are long and time off is not on holidays and is hard to get if your store is not working 100%. They talk about taking care of the team, but it is a facade. You will work during blizzards, and on Thanksgiving when store is closed.

    Advice to Management

Truly embrace Fast, Fun Friendly team. There are great employees that work hourly jobs. Take care of them with actions not words.
