I worked at Target (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff is very friendly. They are open to your questions and will help you in any way you can. You will have managers who know you fairly well and will work with you to improve your social skills as cashier and any scheduling conflicts you may have. Target discount is not very large, but is a small bonus.

    Cons

If you enjoy quiet environments, this might not be the job for you. Check out the feel of the specific store you are applying to. Are there many customers roaming around? How loud is it? Are the lines very long, and how many lines are open at a given time? Keep in mind that the work will be monotonous and repetitive. The only way to liven your experience is by engaging with customers. If you find yourself to be an introvert, look elsewhere. Find a store from a smaller company, with less products in a quieter atmosphere. For me, the environment was far too overwhelming and demanding. Glassdoor does not approve of my, uh, colorful language, so let's say the customers you will run into are oftentimes...difficult.
