I have been working at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, good pay, lots of different types of people and good experience

    Cons

Not flexible on shifts, breaks. If you work on the floor its a breeze but the back or customer service can be hell.

    I worked at Target

    Pros

Flexible with scheduling. Fun environment to work

    Cons

Competitive when it comes to hours, especially as a cashier when hours our based on how many people you get to sign up for credit cards

I worked at Target for more than a year

    Pros

Great atmosphere, and I enjoyed the team effort Management was supportive. Would love to work there again, going to apply.

    Cons

There was't really anything that bad about working for Target. They were strict about hours, not wanting to go overtime. Which when it gets busy, its hard to just get up and go, leaving your team.

I have been working at Target part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

In my particular situation, I find that the people I work with are the best part of working for Target. I know this probably isn't the case for everyone. Management is really nice too and everyone seems to get along fine.

    Cons

Since the data breach, a lot of changes have had to be made. The company is now completely focused on what they call "The Vibe", which used to mean that team members/leads would make little exceptions to the rules for guests to keep them coming back (minor price adjustments, holding items for longer than usual, returning items that normally wouldn't be returnable). Since the data breach, though, Target has pushed "The...

    Advice to Management

The Vibe is a joke. While it might be helping the business by maintaining customer loyalty, its hurting it because its taking away the dignity of your team members. We feel like we come to work to be walked all over by people trying to cheat their way to savings. I still see the same amount of foot traffic and the same people shopping on a daily basis who have "sworn to never have anything to do with Target again" after...

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Target full-time for less than a year

    Pros

more liberal and understanding. not as robotic and cooperate-abiding as other companies. fairly basic attire needed; nothing too flashy.

    Cons

long interview process and they usually start you at part-time making you have completely open availability. not many locations so there's somewhat of a drive.

    Advice to Management

none needed for this line of work

    I worked at Target

    Pros

Target has an excellent inlaid community. The employees and management make the environment very nice to work in. Once you prove yourself, and show initiative, there are a wealth of fun and rewarding positions.

    Cons

For people looking for a career, or long-employment, I would not recommend Target. Although they desire for people to expand responsibilities and take on advanced positions, many team members will get "stuck" doing work, without the pay raise. Plus, after a few years(and raises) their attitude towards employees seems to change. Corrective action, and bad reviews start to come out of nowhere. I have known about 10 people...

    Advice to Management

I would be more honest with employees. Especially when dealing with training, department changes, and employee reviews.
