I have been working at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Get to set your hours to work Helpful LOD's Work as a team

    Cons

I have been at Target for 2 years and have received two raises. However, the raises are not reflected in my pay since the hourly rate is now $12.00/hour. With my raises, I was below this, so my hourly pay was raised to $12.00/hr which is the same as a team member who starts today.

    Advice to Management

When the hourly wage is increased, please include the team member earned raised into that hourly raise. For example if a team member has earned a $.60/hour raise, then increase that member's pay to $12.60 instead of $12.00. Thanks.

I have been working at Target part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible hours, good pay compared to competition, fair treatment, no issues with being pressured to work off the clock or skip breaks/lunches.

    Cons

Repetitive, dull work, no overtime, dealing with the general public every day (sometimes being verbally abused by them), strict regulations that feel like handholding at times.

    Advice to Management

None. For what it is, it's good.

    I worked at Target

    Pros

If you don't want to work hard and just want to collect an easy pay check this is your job.

    Cons

If you are a person that is driven and wants to advance in a company, Target is not for you. More often than not, advancement is only offered to those that are favorites and yearly reviews of you that say you are great at your job will only get you maybe a 50 cent raise.

    Advice to Management

They need to be more involved with their sales team and have a higher standard for each associate. If good, hard-working associates were even given a "good job" pat on the back, they would be more encouraged to stay. It's no wonder that people at stores like Target, Wal-mart and the like are as frustrated to work there as we are to shop there.
